For Sale: 1935 Ford Model 48 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1935 Ford Model 48 Deluxe Tudor Sedan

The Model 48 was an update on Ford's V8 powered Model 40A, the company's main product. In 1935, Ford's combination of price, practicality, and looks vaulted the company ahead of rival Chevrolet for the sales crown that year, with 820,000 total cars sold, 120,000 of which were 4 door, 4 passenger Fordor models and 84,692 were Deluxe Tudor sedans.

For consignment, a 1935 Ford Model 48 deluxe Tudor sedan with a title verified 17,211 actual miles. A crate 502ci V8, Holley Sniper EFI, and even a backup camera! All massaged together on this steel bodied beauty, and along with some chopping, dropping, and first rate components, adds up to show stopping street rod you see here.

Exterior
The stance is one of a stalking big cat, low and raked with rear haunches in a poised profile. It's fronted by a polished grille shell and monochromatic coverage of the Raven Black two stage paint appears dripping wet and pinstripe flames and flourishes embellish the aesthetic appeal. Front air bag suspension renders the front wheel arches low when parked, covering much of the tire on 17-inch Cragar wheels and staggered size tires with a mid 2022 date code. The rounded roofline is part of the long drop of the tail section, unobstructed by emblems or bumpers, just a clean plain of black paint flanked by modest blue dot tail lights. The chopped top is accentuated by the polished windshield reveal behind the classic engine cover louvers and epic V8 hood ornament. A few chips, a hole for the side mirror, minor scratches, scuffs and inclusions throughout are the handful of hard to find imperfections we found.

Interior
Charcoal gray leather covers the door with smooth, pleat free expanse with a brushed material insert housing the door pull and opener. Leather covers the modern bucket seats up front and bench in back, with some very minor wear on the driver's, otherwise presenting cleanly. Facing forward, we find a black steering wheel with horizontal spokes that connect at the V8 engraved hub, fronting an attractive matte gray dashboard housing chrome bezel white faced gauges, a billet knob panel for the A/C and mounted externally are a Ridetech control panel and gauge, the EFI screen, a Kenwood AM/FM radio screen with backup display, and a Fast EZ-TCU transmission controller. Charcoal carpet covers the floor and a Lokar shifter rises from the tunnel with black boot and polished frame. A center console provides a cup holder and an armrest while the headliner is nicely stitched, soft, and gray.

Drivetrain
Polished parts galore and red highlights dress the show worthy engine, a 502ci V8 with GMPP aluminum heads, and Edelbrock intake, and Holley Sniper EFI. It's mated to a 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the Ford 9" in back with 3.55 gears and TracLoc. Headers, power brakes, power steering, and air conditioning are on board.

Undercarriage
Super clean and chock full of goodies underneath. First, there's the dual exhaust that's heat wrapped and runs through a cutout just before the MagnaFlow mufflers, then turning east and west to exit under the running board through rectangular tips. Wilwood 6 piston brakes supply the power disc at all four wheels and suspension includes air bags at both ends with a 4 link in back. Everything is clean and set in a black painted background.

Drive-Ability
Even with the chop, there's plenty of room on the inside of this comfortable cabin. With a turn of the key, we were off in this '35 rod, and a fantastic exhaust note reached our ears in short order. There's some obvious good power here, straight tracking and stopping on a dime. This well sorted car scores 100 on the functionality test and we roll this fine vehicle back to the mothership. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

This is a very fine street rod that presents a turn key, show ready opportunity. The work's been done for you; all you have to do is get in, belt up, and hit the gas! You're the lucky one, but only if you call us before the line forms!
