From 1949 to 1951 the custom nameplate was Ford highest trim level.
It was Fords first major re-design post WWII. The cars would later
be called the "shoebox" Fords. The first postwar design beat out
Chevrolet by 6-months and Plymouth by 9-months. Which in retrospect
was a huge deal and would garner market superiority for quite some
time. The design would be a slabsided ponton fender design. A
couple design revision for 1951 which included the double bullet
nose vs. the single but other than that not a ton of changes. This
particular car is in absolute stunning restored condition from top
to bottom. This is a non-numbers matching Mercury 256 cubic inch
flathead mated to the original transmission. Since Fall of 2023 the
car has had a full service along with new tires, exhaust, fuel
system with electric pump and more. Full compression test that
ranges between 115-120. The car starts, idles, sounds and goes down
the road like it should with no known needs at this time. The
paint, interior, engine, trunk are all very good and would make
someone a turnkey show car. We welcome any questions or inpsections
