1966 Shelby GT40 Mk II Cinema Series - Ken Miles Le Mans Tribute,
482 FE Stroker, 693 HP
The Shelby GT40 Mk II remains one of the most celebrated
competition cars in automotive history, forever associated with
Ford's legendary 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. This
exceptional Shelby GT40 Mk II Cinema Series was built to faithfully
recreate the iconic car driven by Ken Miles during that historic
race, finished in the unmistakable blue Ken Miles livery that
immediately evokes one of racing's greatest moments.
Built with performance and authenticity in mind, this GT40 is
powered by a Blair Patrick Enterprises-built 482 cubic-inch FE
stroker V8, assembled using the finest components throughout. While
visually faithful to the legendary 427 FE, this enlarged 482ci
engine delivers significantly more power and torque, producing an
incredible 694 horsepower and 596lb/ft of torque on the dyno. Fed
by a traditional carburetor fitted with the correct Le Mans-style
float bowls, the engine combines period-correct appearance with
exceptional performance and reliability. The result is a remarkably
tractable, street-friendly powerplant that delivers the
unmistakable sound and character of Ford's legendary FE
big-block.
Adding to its pedigree, the engine and complete driveline
installation were performed by the legendary Holman Moody in
Charlotte, North Carolina-the very company that played a key role
in Ford's GT40 racing program during the 1960s. Their involvement
gives this Cinema Series GT40 an exceptional level of authenticity
and historical significance.
Power is transferred through a ZF 5-speed transaxle, providing the
proper GT40 driving experience. The transmission has just been
serviced, and the engine and carburetor have also received a
complete service and tune, ensuring the car is fully sorted and
ready to enjoy.
Combining breathtaking looks with world-class craftsmanship and
outstanding performance, this Shelby GT40 Mk II Cinema Series
captures the spirit of the legendary Le Mans racer while delivering
modern reliability. Whether destined for concours events, vintage
rallies, track events, or spirited weekend drives, this is an
extraordinary opportunity to own a faithful recreation of one of
the most iconic race cars ever built.
