Classic Car Addict is proud to present this custom 1934 Studebaker
Dictator three-window coupe for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom.
The Studebaker Dictator was produced by the Studebaker Corporation
of South Bend, Indiana, from 1927 through 1937. In the mid-1920s,
Studebaker began renaming its vehicles, and the model previously
known as the Standard Six became the Dictator during the 1927 model
year. The name was intended to suggest that the model "dictated the
standard" other automobile manufacturers would be expected to
follow. This custom 1934 Studebaker blends pre-war coupe styling
with full street rod attitude.
Exterior:
Finished in vibrant metallic blue, this 1934 Studebaker hot rod
combines timeless pre-war styling with the unmistakable presence of
a professionally built street rod. The smooth body features shaved
trim for a clean, streamlined appearance, while the chopped
roofline enhances its aggressive stance. Up front, an exposed
engine bay showcases the supercharged Chevrolet V8, framed by a
polished aluminum radiator, chrome headlamps, and a classic mesh
grille shell that gives the car unmistakable hot rod
personality.
The body rides on a custom chassis with a lowered stance, polished
five-spoke aluminum wheels, and staggered Firestone tires that fill
the wheel openings nicely. Out back, the shortened rear end with
4.11 gears allows the car to run a big rear tire setup, giving this
coupe the kind of wide, planted stance that looks ready to wrinkle
pavement before the light even turns green. The rear fenders retain
the graceful curves that made the original Studebaker coupes so
distinctive, while the overall fit and finish reflect the quality
expected from a well-executed custom build. Whether parked at a car
show or cruising down Main Street, this Studebaker commands
attention from every angle.
Interior:
The custom cabin blends classic hot rod styling with modern
comfort. A pair of supportive high-back bucket seats are
upholstered in black vinyl with textured cloth inserts, providing a
comfortable driving position while complementing the car's
performance-oriented character. The painted steel dashboard is
finished to match the vibrant blue exterior and houses a full
complement of white-faced AutoMeter gauges, giving the driver clear
engine and vehicle information at a glance.
A polished three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a painted tilt
steering column, while a floor-mounted shifter places the
transmission controls within easy reach. Black carpeting lines the
floors, and matching black door panels and headliner complete the
clean, understated interior.
Engine:
Power comes from a Chevrolet small-block V8 that has been
professionally built for both performance and show. Topping the
engine is a polished Roots-style 6-71 supercharger fitted with dual
Holley four-barrel carburetors and a polished scoop, creating
unmistakable hot rod presence. Aluminum finned valve covers, a
polished aluminum intake manifold, chrome accessories, and
custom-fabricated tubular headers complement the detailed engine
bay.
Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling
fan, while an HEI-style ignition system and braided fuel lines
complete the clean, performance-oriented installation. Whether
cruising the boulevard or drawing a crowd at a local show, the
supercharged small-block delivers the classic look, sound, and
attitude that define a traditional street rod.
Transmission:
A floor-mounted shifter places the transmission controls within
easy reach and adds to the car's traditional hot rod feel.
Rear End:
The coupe is equipped with a shortened rear end fitted with 4.11
gears. This setup helps deliver strong acceleration while allowing
room for the big rear tires that give the car its aggressive hot
rod stance.
Wheels and Tires:
The Studebaker rides on polished five-spoke aluminum wheels wrapped
in staggered Firestone tires. The big rear tire setup adds serious
attitude to the coupe's profile and pairs perfectly with the
chopped roofline, lowered chassis, and exposed blown
small-block.
Chassis:
The body rides on a custom chassis with a lowered stance, helping
give this 1934 Studebaker its aggressive street rod profile.
Brakes:
Braking details are presented as part of the overall custom chassis
build. Please contact Classic Car Addict for additional
