Not every 1975 Corvette left the factory with the L82. Most buyers
took the base L48, and that is exactly what separates this one from
the rest. The L82 was the top engine option in 1975, built with
forged internals, big-port heads, a more aggressive camshaft, and a
four-barrel Rochester carburetor that brought output to 205
horsepower at a time when emissions regulations were squeezing
everything else in the lineup down to their knees. Chevrolet even
gave the L82 its own hood emblem for the first time in 1975,
acknowledging that buyers who specified it had chosen something
meaningfully different. This car is numbers matching, finished in
Bright Blue Metallic with black leather inside and T-tops above,
and it presents as a correct, honest example of the most desirable
engine configuration of the year.
Under the hood the L82 350 is backed by the four-speed manual, the
combination that every Corvette buyer who ordered the performance
engine really wanted. New shocks have been fitted, and the front
and rear flex bumper covers are present and correct, giving the car
the complete 1975 C3 look from every angle. The pop-up headlights
work as they should.
Inside, the black leather interior is clean throughout with wood
trim, a tilt-telescoping steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio with
new speakers. Crank windows are correct and expected for this
generation. The original jack with all its accessories is with the
car, and the original T-top storage bags are present, two details
that are often missing after fifty years and tell you immediately
how this car has been kept.
A numbers-matching L82 four-speed in Bright Blue Metallic with the
original storage items intact is exactly the 1975 Corvette that
serious C3 buyers go looking for and rarely find in this
condition.
