For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza in Hastings, Nebraska

Vehicle Description

Chris Shade's PERSONAL CAR: Setting aside all personal bias, this is one of the nicest, most solid, highly-optioned Corvairs that we have ever had in inventory.  I am the second owner of this car (see pictures for original title) which spent its entire life in Amarillo, Texas until I purchased it in 2014.  The car's restoration was finished up in 1995 and shown/judged at the Corsa National Convention in Dallas, Concours de Elegance and scored a 95.19 out of 100pts.  Aside from this judged score, without a doubt, structurally this car is top 3 we have ever had.

Aside from the car's excellent history, it is also a very highly optioned car as well.  Factory options include: 140hp engine, 4speed manual transmission, telescoping steering column and factory "wood" wheel, factory AM/FM radio (includes dealer radio manual, see pictures), factory rear speaker, rear mounted antenna, bumper guards, oil bath air cleaner (not installed), factory tinted windows and the car originally had a remote mirror (which since has been replaced with a standard mirror).  Note: as seen in the pictures, the car currently has Minilite replica 13" rims with 205/60r13 tires that could be switched out with factory style 13" rims and "spinner" hubcaps and Maxxis 185/80r13 white wall tires.  The dual exhausts are new Clark's extractors and have a nice sound without droning.

Upgrades to the car include: Roger Parent throttle linkage (a wonderful improvement over the worn out factory setup), Pertronix electronic ignition, lower control arm bracket and a "deep," finned oil pan.  The engine is bored .20 over and has an Otto 20 camshaft.  The car has also recently had a four wheel alignment and is one of the best driving Corvairs we have ever had in all regards.  The car also comes with a very large stack of receipts from the restoration.  Truly, this is one of the nicest Corvairs that we have ever had to for sale! I hope to find it a new home where is can be appreciated and enjoyed.  For more information, please call Chris Shade at (402) 460-7097.  Thanks! :-). --  Shade's Classic Cars is a Corvair and Fiero specialty shop with over 100 cars in stock at all times.  Check us out at: www.shadesclassiccars.com.
