Fourth-Generation Camaro
LaFontaine Classic Cars is proud to offer this 2002 Chevrolet
Camaro SS Convertible 35th Anniversary Edition, an exceptionally
well-equipped and tastefully modified example celebrating the final
year of fourth-generation Camaro production. Finished in its iconic
Bright Rally Red accented by factory Silver 35th Anniversary
stripes over a Black leather interior, this Camaro combines
collector appeal with modernized performance to create an
exhilarating driving experience.
Under the forced-air induction hood is the legendary 5.7-liter LS1
V8, extensively upgraded with premium performance components while
retaining excellent street manners. The engine features a
performance camshaft, ported cylinder heads, stainless steel intake
and exhaust valves, GM Performance Parts lifters, chromoly
pushrods, a Melling high-volume oil pump, ATI harmonic balancer,
Racetronix fuel pump, aftermarket cold air intake, and American
Racing long-tube headers. Power is sent through a Monster S
twin-disc clutch, billet flywheel, and 6-speed manual transmission
equipped with a Hurst short-throw shifter, delivering crisp,
confident shifts.
A custom exhaust system featuring cat-less mid-pipes and a Borla
Performance muffler produces the unmistakable deep tone expected
from a properly built LS-powered Camaro while allowing the engine
to breathe freely throughout the RPM range.
Handling has been equally improved with a lowered suspension,
upgraded front and rear sway bars, an adjustable Panhard bar, and
reinforced rear lower control arms, creating a planted,
confidence-inspiring feel without sacrificing drivability.
Four-wheel anti-lock ventilated disc brakes and Acceleration Slip
Regulation help keep the power under control, while the factory
17-inch 35th Anniversary wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force
Comp-2 tires installed in 2025 for exceptional grip.
The exterior remains unmistakably Camaro SS with its aggressive
forced-air induction hood, SS-specific rear spoiler, 35th
Anniversary badging, fog lamps, and dual exhaust outlets. The black
convertible top was replaced in 2024, ensuring years of open-air
enjoyment to come.
