--Cambridge Blue with Black leather interior and Black Wilton wool
carpeting, 5.7 Liter Big Bore engine conversion by Autosport
Designs with limited mileage since, 6-speed Manual gearbox, V8
Vantage Flip Tail cosmetics, Serviced-sorted, excellent condition
throughout, Ready for immediate use and enjoyment. This
V8's early factory history is born from an uncertain time at The
Newport Pagnell AML Ltd. Works. This V8s factory build sheet stated
original color combination as Cambridge Blue with Blue leather, but
at the time with the company having been in receivership, it was
well known, the factory would do anything to simply sell one of its
cars. Thus, having an order from Canada with owner who's preferred
color combination was Tudor Green with Natural leather, this V8 was
painted and trimmed and spec'd to Canadian standards. Once
completed, this V8 was supplied and delivered to its first owner, a
resident of the Eastern portion of Canada. This V8 remained in the
same ownership until 2013 when it was found after, many, many years
of cared for garage storage. Located by Peter Kumar -
Gullwing Motorcars this V8 had been offered to Autosport Designs.
Not purchased at the time by ASD, it was sold instead to Mike Abbas
Cars, UK. Recommissioned-serviced as needed to be road worthy, the
V8 received its UK MOT and was then sold to a well-known Swiss
Aston enthusiast. Having been enjoyed as is for several years, its
Swiss owner entrusted the V8 to restorers, Auto Classico, Madrid,
Spain. While in the care of Auto Classico, its Swiss owner decided
to have the V8 stripped to bare metal and returned to its original
exterior color of Cambridge Blue and as originally intended by the
factory on its original build sheet. Surprisingly, this V8 never
suffered any major rust issues, this probably due to its having
been garage stored for most of its life in Canada, shielded from
the Canadian Winter elements, and of course, only being used during
Canada's extremely short fair weather driving season. All
brightwork was restored and its Natural leather interior changed to
Black leather and carpets. The V8 was now in superb cosmetic
condition as well as its having been thoroughly serviced
mechanically by Auto Classico. This V8 now showing only
80,000 miles from new, its Swiss owner, with the help of Auto
Classico sold this V8 to a good friend and client of Autosport
Designs, Inc., a Southern California Aston enthusiast. Having owned
a Factory V8 Vantage Molded Flip Tail in the past, our client
decided to use his newly acquired V8 Coupe as an excellent canvas
to allow ASD to commence upon a bespoke project. The V8
was cosmetically refurbished to V8 Vantage Bolted Flip Tail
cosmetics, Vantage front air dam, Bolted bonnet plug, Oscar driving
lamps, Blanked-off front grille plate, Perspex headlamp covers,
Correct rear plate license plate location and finally Bolt on rear
Flip Tail spoiler. Not only were the cosmetics performed,
the engine was removed and rebuilt to V8 Vantage specification with
large valves and Vantage camshafts, but also with enlarged engine
capacity to 5.7 liter Big Bore specification. At this
time, the suspension was also completely rebuilt to include a
Harvey-Bailey handling package. Finally, a suitable
stereo system was created to suit the clients hi-end audiophile
requirements. Upon completion, the result was not only music to
one's ears within this bespoke Aston, but also in itself, a high
horsepower mechanical symphony from the Aston V8's engine intake
and exhaust sounds. After several seasons of enjoyment and
limited mileage, our client, having several American muscle cars in
his collection decided to trade this bespoke Aston V8 in favor of
one of our later European specification V8 Volantes. The
V8 Volante, a British muscle car in itself, but with its open air
touring, far more conducive for his collection and Southern
California cruising and touring. We are proud to offer
this bespoke V8 with less than 1,500 miles since all work has been
performed for sale. This is an Aston V8 built to the finest high
horsepower and comfort combined and built at great expense. Ready
for immediate use and enjoyment.
