Since September 1999, Street Dreams Texas has been bringing classic
American muscle and collector vehicles to enthusiasts around the
world. Every now and then we're fortunate enough to offer a vehicle
with a story that ties directly to our hometown, making it even
more special. This 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger 4x4 is one of those
trucks-a remarkably well-preserved, two-owner example that was
originally sold new right here in Fredericksburg, Texas. Finding a
clean, largely original fourth-generation Ford F-Series is becoming
increasingly difficult, especially in desirable short-wheelbase
configuration. We purchased this truck directly from its original
owner, who had cared for it since new, and sold it late last year.
The current owner enjoyed the truck for only about 400 miles before
deciding to offer it back, giving another enthusiast the
opportunity to own an exceptionally honest example with an
incredible history. Finished in attractive green with a matching
green interior, this Ranger has the timeless look that made these
trucks icons. Since leaving our showroom, the suspension has been
professionally updated with new springs and leveled for a more
balanced stance while preserving its classic character. The factory
side rails were removed for a cleaner appearance but are included
with the truck should the next owner wish to reinstall them. A
fresh set of Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires mounted with the white
lettering turned inward gives the truck an understated, purposeful
look while providing excellent off-road capability. Under the hood
is Ford's optional 400 cubic-inch V8 backed by an automatic
transmission, delivering the dependable torque these trucks are
known for. Factory air conditioning, power steering, and power
front disc brakes make it comfortable and enjoyable to drive, while
the receiver hitch and in-cab trailer brake controller make it
ready for towing duties. The classic Mr. Pickup cattle guard
remains a period-correct addition that fits the truck's Texas roots
perfectly. Inside, the matching green interior remains
exceptionally well preserved, a testament to decades of careful
ownership. The original bench seat presents beautifully, and
thoughtful factory touches such as the working cargo light with its
overhead switch remind you of the practical design that made these
trucks dependable workhorses. The bed is protected by a bed liner,
the paint retains an excellent appearance, and the chassis is
impressively clean for a vintage four-wheel-drive pickup,
reflecting the care it has received throughout its life. Whether
you're looking for a weekend cruiser, a dependable vintage pickup
to enjoy, or a highly collectible Ford that hasn't lost its
originality, this F-150 Ranger checks all the boxes. Its documented
ownership history, hometown connection, desirable short-wheelbase
configuration, and tasteful updates make it the kind of truck
that's becoming increasingly difficult to replace. Street Dreams
Texas is proud to offer carefully selected collector vehicles that
are meant to be driven and enjoyed. Contact us at 830-997-1950 to
