Eight years of planning and work has gone in to the design and
build of this one of a kind 1955 Ford truck.
This is a full frame off build. Front suspension has Tubular "A"
arms upper and lower. The front clip is from a 1981 Camaro. The
truck has fantastic road handling. Front anti-sway bar to keep it
tight in the turns. Steering is a breeze with power steering. Even
has power front wheel disc brakes and rear drums. Has a Camaro
10-bolt 8.2" GM rear with differential is 3.42.1 gears with
Posi-traction. Take a close look at the Rambler wheels by U.S. Mags
with BFGoodrich 245/45ZR17 and 275/40ZR18. This wheel and tire
combination take the '55 to a new level!
The engine is 5.7 LS1 dyno at 310 hp. It's an all-aluminum block
and heads OHV V8 that commands attention for balance, performance
and durability. This is a light weight power house! Cooling is
taken care of by Champion aluminum radiator. The transmission is a
4L60E 4-speed automatic. The exhaust is a work of art. It is 2.5"
tube with flex sections to eliminate vibration. The Chrome dual
exhaust tips are neatly hidden by the rear fenders.
Luxury interior touches such as black bench seat with matching
headliner, and door panels. Upgrade to electric wipers. The dash
has a full array of Dakota Digital VHX gauges; water temp, oil
press, fuel level, volts, 160 mph speedometer, and an 8000-rpm
tachometer. A chrome tilt steering column. The '55 even has an
electric "E" brake.
What sets the '55 apart? Start with a 3.5" chop and a single piece
front windshield. Shortened bed with custom tailgate and rounded
rear apron. 1959 Cadillac taillights (LED) set into the rear
fenders. Gas door has been relocked to the bed by tailgate. The bed
has a non-slip Rhino coating. Yes, has a spare tire! The stunning
dark metallic blue paint looks as if it dances over the body curves
of this '55.
