This exceptional 1973 Camaro Z28 stands among the finest and most authentic examples we have ever encountered. This is a genuine, unrestored survivor: original running gear, original engine, factory-applied paint, and an interior that has never been changed. It was never acquired as a bargain. It was chosen for its story, its integrity, and originality that is virtually unheard of at this level.

The car was ordered in late 1972 by its first owner, Richie, who was stationed with the US Air Force in Germany at the time. It was assembled at the Norwood, Ohio plant on January 4th, 1973, and sold new through Anderberg Chevrolet Inc in Rosalia, Washington. The base retail price was $2,871.70 plus a $211 delivery charge, before options. Richie ordered it generously equipped: Custom Deluxe seatbelts, Soft Ray tinted glass, color keyed floormats, Hide A Way windshield wipers, a visor vanity mirror, center console, front and rear spoilers, the four speed wide range manual transmission, power steering, special instrumentation, an AM/FM push button radio, rear seat speaker, auxiliary lighting, and the Z28 special performance package. Finished in factory Dark Brown metallic with Dark Saddle vinyl seats, the total price came to $4,466.75.

Richie kept the car until 2009, when he sold it to its second owner, Edman Lis. Edman entered the Camaro into the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in November 2010, where it scored 97.7% on the originality scale, a remarkable result for a car of this age. From Edman, the Camaro passed to Alan, its third caretaker, who owned and cherished it for seven years before we acquired it as its fourth owner. This clear, uninterrupted ownership chain from day one is exceptionally rare.

Documentation Without Equal

The documentation accompanying this Camaro is simply extraordinary. All original factory booklets, the window sticker, tags, and the original build sheet are present. Every invoice for all work ever performed on the car is included, and remarkably, even the original checkbook used to pay for the car when new is still with the vehicle. In total, two large binders filled with documentation accompany the car, creating a complete and irrefutable history. We have never seen another Camaro documented to this extent.

Driving this Z28 is a true time capsule experience. The car looks, feels, and drives exactly as a brand new 1973 Camaro should. The only non-factory addition is a rare, period-correct gauge set installed by a previous owner to monitor oil pressure and engine vacuum, an upgrade that adds functionality without detracting from originality.

Alan, the previous owner, recommissioned the car to make it safe and drivable, replacing hoses, the brake master cylinder, and other wear items, while paying very special attention to retaining every original part. When we collected the Camaro, it was evident how difficult it was for him to part with it. We promised to continue the same level of care and respect. Should this Camaro move on again, it will only be to a buyer who truly understands what it represents.

Mechanical Authenticity

The car retains its original, numbers-matching engine, transmission, and rear axle. Under the hood sits the 350 cubic inch small block V8 LT1, fed by its original Quadrajet carburetor. Power runs through the factory four speed wide ratio manual transmission to a Positraction rear end with 3.73 gearing, an excellent balance between relaxed cruising and strong acceleration.

This Camaro is not merely a car. It is a benchmark example, offered exclusively to a discerning collector who values originality, documentation, and historical integrity above all else.
