Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this stunning example
of probably the most iconic American car of the '50's - a 1957
Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop. This is far from your average Bel
Air, though, as this Chevy has undergone a serious restoration that
includes modern upgrades like a 350ci V-8, a 4-speed automatic
overdrive transmission, power front disc brakes, adjustable front
coil-overs and tubular A-arms, power steering, Vintage A/C,
retro-style radio, Dakota Digital VHX gauges, fresh paint, and an
interior that'll make jaws drop. This car combines old-school cool
with a pleasurable modern driving experience - it's the best of
both worlds! Let's take a deep dive into this gorgeous piece of
American automotive history...
This "VC"-code Chevy represents the top tier of their lineup for
that year, and it sports the appropriate gold anodized aluminum
trim that lets everyone know it. This '57 originally rolled off the
line dressed in a two-tone paint scheme with an Inca Silver body
and an Imperial Ivory top (code 808), but it's now wearing a slick
all- Black paint job that serves as a perfect backdrop for the
copious amounts of chrome that decorate the body. The paint is
glossy and deep, with only minimal imperfections that put it in the
high-driver quality category. The hood features twin rocket-style
chrome hood ornaments and gold "Chevrolet" script and "V" badging
at the front. Below is a gold eggcrate grille with a colorful
Chevrolet crest at the center, all encircled with gleaming chrome.
The wrap-around front bumper has a mirror-finish and features
dagmars with pasties, a popular '50's look. Captivating good looks
continue when viewed from the side, especially the full sweeping
side trim that fans out at the tailfins and defines the '57 model
year look. Tinted windows are surrounded with bright chrome frames,
and the rockers are clad in chrome molding. There are also dual
chrome side mirrors, gold fender hashmarks, and tailfin trim adding
more bling against the black paint. Completing the side view are a
set of 5-spoke chrome American Racing wheels (17" front, 18" rear)
wrapped in newer Ohtsu FP7000 tires that give this Bel Air a great
stance. In the rear, you'll find a hidden gas fill inside the
driver's-side chrome fin trim, gold "Chevrolet" and "V" trunk
badging that mimics the hood, another stylish chrome bumper, and a
pair of chrome exhaust tips. Take a look underneath to find a clean
black undercarriage, a newer gas tank, newer exhaust with
Flowmaster mufflers, solid floorpans, and adjustable coil-overs
with tubular A-arms up front.
Under the large curved hood is a clean black engine bay that's a
feast for the eyes of any classic car fan. At the center is a 350ci
GM V-8 engine wearing appropriate orange paint and topped with what
we believe to be Vortec heads, chrome valve covers, a cast intake,
a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner.
At the front of the engine are aluminum pulleys, a chrome
alternator, a power steering reservoir with a chrome cap, and a
Sanden compressor that supplies ice-cold A/C to the interior.
Keeping things cool under the hood is a newer aluminum radiator
with a large electric puller fan and a polished overflow canister.
The V-8 is mated up to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive
transmission that sends power to the rear wheels with smooth
shifts. Stopping ability comes courtesy of power front disc and
rear drum brakes. Exhaust travels through headers and Flowmaster
mufflers before exiting the tips with a growl that will put a smile
on your face every time you tap the gas.
When you open the driver's door, the window flipper opens as it
should, and the courtesy lights pop on to illuminate a fresh custom
interior that blends tradition with modern touches. In a tasteful
nod to a later generation of Chevy, the bench seats and door panels
have been covered in black vinyl with black & white houndstooth
cloth inserts - and it looks amazing! The whole interior looks
freshly restored, the seats are comfortable, and classic Chevy
brightwork abounds. The door panels offer power controls for the
front windows and cranks for the vent windows (rear windows are
crank operated as well). The front seat is equipped with both seat
and shoulder belts (the rear seat is not). The floor is covered in
new-looking black hook & loop carpet that's kept looking nice with
a full set of carpeted rubber "Bel Air" floormats. Overhead you'll
find a tight black vinyl headliner and working dome light. In the
rear is a clean, uncut black package tray. Ahead of the driver is a
black 2-spoke "Classic" steering wheel with chrome bands and a
bright horn ring (inop.) on a tilt column. The shifter for the
4-speed automatic is on the column as well. The steering wheel
frames a new retro-style Dakota Digital VHX analog gauge cluster
that looks fantastic when it lights up. It offers a 160 mph
speedometer, 8K tachometer, gauges - temp, oil, fuel, and volts,
and an info screen that has a clock, digital tach, high speed,
mile times, and more. The odometer reads 3,149 miles, and we
believe that to be the mileage since the build. The black painted
dash has a lower textured chrome band running side to side that is
home to controls for lights and 2-speed wipers (working), ignition,
lighter, AM/FM retro-style radio, a gold "Bel Air" badge, and an
analog clock (inop.). The radio plays your cruisin' soundtrack
through a single dash-top speaker. Under the band to the driver's
right are controls for the HVAC system that blows cold A/C and hot
heat with a strong fan on demand. To the right of that is an empty
glovebox. Around back, you'll find a glossy black trunk with a
fitted rubber mat, a full (non-matching) spare, and a factory-style
jack.
If you're hunting for a tri-five Chevy, a 57 Bel Air specifically,
or just a quintessentially 50's classic - you're going to love what
this Bel Air has to offer! Classic body lines, slick paint,
abundant gleaming brightwork, cool wheels and stance, a 350 V-8, an
automatic overdrive transmission, power steering, power front disc
brakes, modern cold A/C, headers & Flowmasters, adjustable
coil-overs and tubular control arms, Dakota Digital gauges, and a
gorgeous interior - it really does check all the boxes! Give our
friendly staff a call today - don't miss out on the chance to put
