Description:
This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was refurbished and modified in
the style of a ZL-1 model under previous ownership. A 427ci ZL1
aluminum block V8 bearing casting number 3946052 and a 6-14-69 date
casting was installed, and it is equipped with a four-barrel
carburetor, an L88-style air cleaner assembly, an aluminum intake
manifold, and aluminum cylinder heads. It is backed by a "Rock
Crusher" four-speed manual transmission linked to a Positraction
differential.
Interior:
The twin bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl, and amenities
include headrests, a heater, an analog clock, passenger-side map
pockets, and lap belts. The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted
on a telescopic column and frames a 160-mph speedometer and a
tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, while auxiliary gauges for
fuel level, battery charge, and coolant temperature are mounted in
the center stack.
Exterior:
The car is refinished in gold, and features include an L88-style
hood, a black hood stripe, removable roof panels, hideaway
headlights, a driver-side mirror, and side-exit exhaust pipes. The
15? Rally wheels wear chrome trim rings and center caps and are
mounted with Firestone Wide Oval tires.
Drivetrain:
The 427ci V8 has an aluminum block with Winters casting marks and a
ZL1-specification casting number as well as an aluminum intake
manifold and aluminum cylinder heads all with Winters Foundry
markings. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an M22 "Rock
Crusher" four-speed manual transmission and a heavy-duty
Positraction limited-slip differential with 3.08:1 gearing
