Carrera Cabriolet G50 represents the very best of the air-cooled
3.2 Carrera era - the final and most refined evolution of the
original 911 before the 964 arrived. Finished from the factory in
striking as well as very rare Venetian Blue Metallic (paint code
F8) over a Champagne and Marine Blue supple leather interior (code
HZ), this is a genuinely handsome, correctly optioned example of an
increasingly collectible drop-top.
What separates the 1988 from earlier Carreras is what lives behind
the engine: the coveted G50/01 five-speed transmission, paired with
the 3.2-liter M930/25 flat-six. The G50 is widely regarded as the
gearbox that transformed the 3.2 Carrera into the connoisseur's
choice - stronger, smoother, and far more satisfying to row than
the earlier 915 unit. Per the original Porsche Production
Specifications, this car left Stuttgart well equipped with a
power-operated top, forged alloy wheels, cruise control, the HiFi
sound package with amplifier, supple leather seats, and an alarm
