INTRODUCTION: This top of the line 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz
is an extraordinary survivor with only 6,520 actual miles! Its
history is as remarkable as its condition. The original Texas owner
purchased the car and never even titled it. More than 30 years
later, after his passing, it was sold and titled for the very first
time with only 196 miles on the odometer. The second owner
carefully serviced and enjoyed the car, preserving its exceptional
originality while bringing the mileage to where it sits today.
Accompanied by a binder of documentation, including the original
window sticker and detailed records, this Eldorado represents a
rare opportunity to own one of the finest low mileage luxury
survivors from the golden age of Cadillac.
EXTERIOR: The elegance of this Cadillac is undeniable. Finished in
factory white with hand painted red pinstripes, it has the
timeless, dignified appearance that made the Eldorado the pinnacle
of American luxury. The paint appears to be remarkably well
preserved, retaining a beautiful shine and presenting exceptionally
well. The body is laser straight with no rust or damage. The chrome
and stainless trim are in excellent condition and beautifully
complement the crisp white finish. It features the optional padded
vinyl roof along with the desirable power sunroof. The hubcaps are
mint, and it's riding on a set of radial whitewall tires. This
Cadillac has clearly been pampered its entire life, and it shows
everywhere you look.
INTERIOR: It is absolutely amazing! The color combination, the
comfort, and the condition are unlike anything you'll find in a
typical survivor. The factory white leather with rich red accents
is elegant and eye catching, making this Cadillac feel every bit as
luxurious today as it did in 1978. The famous pillow top leather
seats are incredibly soft and comfortable. Honestly, I'd put one of
these seats in my living room! They cradle you like your favorite
recliner and are one of the defining features that made these
Cadillacs the kings of the American luxury car market. Even more
impressive is the preservation, I'm tempted to use the word
"perfect". The white leather is practically pristine, the plastic
trim isn't cracked, the woodgrain is beautiful, and nothing shows
any wear. The original carpets and floor mats still look nearly
new. Considering this is white leather, its condition is truly
remarkable. Luxury features are everywhere, including power seats
for both driver and passenger, power windows, power locks, power
antenna, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, and a
power sunroof with its sliding overhead sunshade. It also has the
original AM/FM 8-track stereo and, yes, even a factory Cadillac CB
radio. This interior is a true time capsule that reminds you why
Cadillac was the standard of American luxury.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Cadillac's 425 cubic inch V8 is renowned for
its smooth, effortless performance, and this one runs exactly as it
should. Open the hood and you'll find an incredibly well preserved,
highly original engine compartment that has never been altered or
dressed up. It hasn't been spray painted over, it even still has
original paper tags on the valve covers! All of the factory
components are still in place, including the correct vacuum lines,
air cleaner ductwork, heat riser tube, and other original
equipment. The air conditioning system has been serviced and blows
ice cold air.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Just like the rest of the car, the trunk is a
true time capsule. Under the trunk lid and in the jamb you'll find
pristine original paint, and the original weatherstrip is still
soft. Inside is completely lined with the factory gray liner along
with the optional rubber trunk mat. The jack assembly appears to
have never been used, and it still has its original collapsible
spare tire and air bottle to fill it. Even the power trunk release
inside the glove box functions properly. When closing the trunk,
Cadillac's luxury automatic pull down feature gently draws the lid
down and latches it securely.
UNDERSIDE: The underside is a testament to its preservation. Having
spent its life in Texas, the car is completely free of rust, and
the original floors and frame remain exceptionally clean and
untouched. Unlike many collector cars, the underside has not been
covered up with fresh undercoating or paint, allowing its
originality to be clearly seen. Everything underneath reflects the
care this Cadillac has received throughout its life. The suspension
and braking systems have been properly maintained, including
replacement shocks and select bushings as needed. It is equipped
with four wheel disc brakes, and all systems are functioning as
they should. You'll find what appears to be the original exhaust
system, including a GM muffler and resonator. The original
transmission was professionally rebuilt due to age and extended
storage, ensuring reliable operation while preserving the car's
integrity.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every
vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected,
test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for
sale.
CONCLUSION: The exceptional condition, striking color combination,
luxury features, incredibly low 6,520 actual miles, and extensive
history and documentation make this Eldorado Biarritz a highly
desirable and increasingly rare find. It's the kind of survivor
that collectors wait years to come across. Don't hesitate on this
one- we already have several interested buyers in our system. If
this Cadillac belongs in your collection, act fast before someone
else makes it theirs!
