1969 Avanti II Coupe
Studebaker only produced the Avanti for two years. When production ceased, a Studebaker dealer in South Bend, Indiana would not let the Avanti die. He purchased the building and all the parts, and started hand building the Avanti. He called it the Avanti II, and powered it with a Corvette engine. Production started in 1965. This one offered is a 1969, one of only 92 hand-built examples. A two-owner car that can be viewed as a C1 Corvette with a back seat. Less than 6,000 Avanti's were ever produced.
Powered by a factory-installed 300HP 327ci Corvette engine which was rebuilt, now a 331ci, COMP 386H cam, roller tip rockers and Edelbrock 1403 carburetors.
