NADA 2.6L straight-sixOver $10,000 in recent maintenanceBeloved
across continents for its intrepid spirit, this 1967 Land Rover
Series II is the emblem of adventure. Used as a military and
all-terrain vehicle across parts of Europe post World War II and
throughout rural Africa, Series IIs have built memories across
generations.Driving the Series 109 is a unique experience, to put
it mildly. A non-synchro transmission demands proficiency to handle
gear changes, the steering is an unfiltered feedback loop from the
front wheels, the rain wipers merely brush water off the
windshield, switches for different features are seemingly randomly
placed on the dash, and it all just condenses the pre-modern
driving experience into one British Brick. This Land Rover is
demarcated as a '109' because of its 109-inch wheelbase and four
doors, all of which have classic sliding windows as opposed to your
more typical roll-up glass. The tropical roof, designed to provide
shade over the actual roof skin and cool the interior of the
vehicle, is painted in the Land Rover color Limestone (Code 46251).
The two-tone roof and matching steelies compliment the Light Green
(Code 46250) body in a time-honored combination that is
recognizable to Series fans worldwide. Original badges, on the
front grill and rear, label this Series as originating in
'Solihull, Warwickshire,' and Land Rover mudflaps cover the Dakota
M/T Definity M+S LT245/75R16 tires. Two full-sized spares, on the
front hood and rear door, can be easily mounted in case of
adventure.Don't be put off by the bare bones interior. Both the
front bench and the rear bench seat three, bringing the total party
possibility up to 6. The two sets of folding gray vinyl seats are
supported by rear bars with old world leather straps, adding
accessibility and access to the riders behind them. Behind the
thin-rim steering wheel, a collection of gauges indicate amperage,
fuel, charge, and water and oil temperature. The speedometer (in
MPH!) is written in an exceptionally old world font too. Although
no floor mats cover the Light Green metal floor in the seating
area, the cargo area is covered in rubber. More jump seats could be
installed too, but currently the cargo area is meant entirely for
storage.Car Cave recently performed over $10,000 of maintenance to
this Landy, including rebuilding and adjusting the steering box,
repairing the oil pump and radiator, replacing engine gaskets,
rebuilding the door hinge and carburetor, shoring up some dashboard
wiring, refurbished lug nuts, and performing general maintenance
like an oil change, brake fluid and coolant flush, and replacing
spark plugs. Give us a call to see complete maintenance
records.FeaturesSliding side windowsTropical roofAlpine
