1986 Ferrari Testarossa Flying mirror (or Monospecchio). Believed
to be 1 of only 300 units imported to the US. Finished in the
iconic "Rosso Corsa" over tan leather interior, combined with red
carpeting. Powered by Ferrari's 4.9-liter flat-12 cylinder engine
featuring Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection and dry-sump
lubrication, the Testarossa was factory rated at an impressive 380
horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear
wheels through the standard 5-speed gated manual transmission. This
example shows just 19,280 miles and is accompanied by detailed
service records from its last caretaker, the original owner's
manual and Ferrari books, factory roll-up tool kit, scissor jack,
wheel knock-off tool, and other miscellaneous equipment seen via
the photos. This beautiful Pininfarina-designed body is highlighted
by its signature side strakes, pop-up headlights, wide rear track,
and aggressive wedge-shaped styling that made the Testarossa one of
the most recognizable Ferraris ever produced. Factory equipment
includes four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, independent front and
rear suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, limited-slip
differential, air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors,
leather seating surfaces, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
This Ferrari rides on polished 16-inch Cromodora five-spoke alloy
wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires ordered in August of
2025. Tire sizes are 225/50ZR16 in the front and 255/50ZR16 in the
rear. Due to the limited availability of tires for the original
wheel configuration in the United States, the car was upgraded to
the Cromodora wheel setup, which, in our opinion, surpasses the
look of the original wheels and gives the car additional character
and actual driveability. For those who prefer originality, all four
refinished Monodado (or single-bolt/center-lock) OEM wheels are
included with the sale. Just as importantly, this Testarossa has
received the level of maintenance these cars deserve. An engine-out
major service was performed at 19,201 miles, while the clutch was
replaced in 2020. The second-to-last owner purchased the car
approximately three decades ago. During that time, he added
approximately 6k of the 19k miles shown. We acquired the car from
the man who bought it from him. This last owner took it to Canada,
where he planned to drive it and perhaps put it on the show
circuit. When he first purchased the car, the paint had started to
show its age, and the interior was starting to look tired, so in
mid-2022, he decided to bring the car back to its previous glory
and have it painted and also restore the interior. He took the car
to a respected Ferrari/Porsche authorized body shop to have the
work performed. We have a few photos of that process available.
Previous to his ownership, the timing belt and water pump seal were
documented to have been replaced during the autumn of 2021, along
with a multitude of other important mechanical necessities
(receipts available). More recent servicing includes replacement of
the smog pump and belt, a fresh oil and filter service,
installation of a new A/C belt, and conversion of the air
conditioning system to R134A refrigerant. With extensive service
documentation, factory books, receipts, and tools, and just 19,280
miles showing!!! This Testarossa offers the kind of ownership
history and maintenance pedigree that knowledgeable Ferrari
enthusiasts look for.
