The following additional information is an abbreviated description of the work performed, and the parts/materials used.

Engine:

Disassembled, cleaned, inspected and rebuilt with block and heads machined as required to meet factory specs. Parts installed include new main, rod & cam bearings, new pistons, rings, stainless valves (Ethanol compatible) valve seats, lifters, oil pump, fuel pump, seals & gaskets. The starter, generator, carburetor, and distributor were all rebuilt.

Drive Line:

Resurfaced flywheel, new ring gear, new pressure plate, friction disc & throw-bearing. Rebuilt Ford

4-speed all synchro transmission with fourth-gear overdrive. Rebuild included new synchros, all new bearings, and seals. The drive shaft was balanced and reassembled with new u-joints at each end. The rear axle and differential were disassembled, cleaned, inspected and reassembled with lash readjusted and all new bearings and seals installed.

Suspension/Brakes:

Front axle spindles cleaned, inspected and reinstalled with new spindle bushes and spindle bearings. New tie rod ends and rebuilt steering box with new bushings & seals. New spring-eye bushes (front & rear). New wheel bearings (front axle), new half-shaft bearings & seals (rear axle), new shock-absorbers (front & rear). New brake components installed included new brake drums (front & rear), new brake cylinders (front & rear), new brake master cylinder, new brake shoes, springs, and new brake lines, hoses throughout.

Body Panels (Fenders, Hood, Doors, Cab):

All body panels disassembled, media blasted, inspected for rust, collision damage, etc. All rust was removed by replacement of damaged areas with new metal or repair panels welded in place. All dents or surface imperfections were removed to restore panels to as-new condition. Minimum filler was used to achieve surfaces suitable for refinish. All surfaces received epoxy-primer. Exterior surfaces received additional coats of K-2 primer. All panels were sanded smooth and painted prior to assembly with single state P.P.G. urethane.

Pickup Box/Tail Gate:

This box is an exact replica of the original. It was made by a company licensed by Ford to duplicate Ford’s design. The steel bed liner rests upon 7/8” thick white oak planks which are sealed and painted before assembly. Exposed wooden beds first appeared in 1950 when Ford eliminated the liner due to demand for steel during the Korean War.

Electrical:

A new wiring loom including engine bay harness, body harness, dash harness, and taillight harness, which replicates the original in gauge, terminal ends and color coding has been installed. The engine bay portion of this harness was modified to include wires to provide for front turn signal lamps. Other new components include voltage regulator, starter, solenoid, ignition switch plus new engine temperature, oil pressure, and fuel gauge sending units. A new six-volt battery and battery cables are included.

Cooling System:

Installed components include re-cored radiator, rebuilt water pumps, new thermostats, fan belts, hoses, hose clamps, heater hoses, and new permanent antifreeze.

Upholstery, Moldings & Trim:

Rebuilt bench seat frame with new springs, padding and zinc plated support legs, as original, is included. The seat and seat back cushions are upholstered to replicate the original style. Upholstery includes new head liner, cab liners, and sun visors. New black rubber floor mats are installed as original. All moldings and rubber parts are new including wind-wing surrounds, windshield and door window seals and inside door window ‘Fuzzies’. All weather seals, anti-squeak pads, body to chassis pads, and ‘bumper’ pads, etc. are new. Trim items are mostly stainless steel and have all been straightened and polished. New items include hub caps, grille bar covers, outside door handles and many stainless, polished fasteners duplicating original hardware.

Accessories and Extras:

A factory original Ford AM, six-volt, push-button radio is installed. It mates to the openings Ford provided in the dashboard. The truck has dual windshield wipers, and a factory installed ‘Fresh-Air’ heater/defroster complete with under fender air plenum, two-speed blower motor, and defroster ducts with the original control panel.

Things Not Original:

The 4-speed overdrive transmission (mentioned above) is from a 70’s vintage F-150 bolted to a 49’ Ford sedan bell housing. The original 3-speed top-loader with its integral bell housing is included should one wish to re-install it. A dual exhaust system has been installed which includes stainless steel headers, new mufflers, hangers, and pipes. There are five ‘Firestone’ wide whitewall tires mounted on 16” rims with new tubes. These tires are manufactured and distributed by Cocker Tires using original Firestone molds. The fifth tire is the spare mounted beneath the bed and it’s protected from the elements by a vinyl covering.

Issues:

The gas cap is original but dented. After-market caps don’t fit and I’ve not found an original replacement. The exterior door handles are after-market and ‘kinda-sorta’ look like the originals but are a die-cast replica. I’ve got a good original right-hand handle (included) but not its mate. Finally, the weather-strip for the doors is only produced by Steele Rubber. It’s an exact copy of the original (a complicated shape); but is not as ‘squishy’ as the originals. So, some extra oomph is needed when closing doors. The Steele Rubber guy I ‘bitched’ to said that over time the part will “relax” and closing doors will become easier.

As far as I know, That’s It. If interested, please respond.
