1995 Nissan 180SX Type X Tribute - Built SR20DET | 615 WHP on E85 |
Haltech Elite 1500 | S15 Interior Conversion
Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to offer this incredible
1995 Nissan 180SX, a purpose-built street and show machine that
perfectly blends iconic Japanese styling with modern performance
engineering. Finished in a striking custom red paint scheme and
sitting aggressively over custom Blitz wheels, this 180SX commands
attention from every angle while delivering the kind of performance
normally reserved for dedicated race cars.
Under the hood lies a meticulously assembled fresh built SR20DET
that has one goal in mind: making serious power while maintaining
reliability. Featuring CP forged pistons with a 9.5:1 compression
ratio, Brian Crower connecting rods, BC Stage 2 264/264 camshafts,
titanium valve springs, ARP head studs, and upgraded rod bearings,
this engine has been fortified from top to bottom. Supporting
modifications include an S15 oil pump and water pump, Greddy
5-quart oil pan, ATI Super Damper harmonic balancer, Audi R8 coil
conversion, and a custom powder-coated valve cover that adds a
clean finishing touch.
Forced induction duties are handled by a Pulsar G30-660
turbocharger fitted with a stainless .81 A/R turbine housing and
the sought-after T51R modification, mounted to a custom DynasTay
Performance turbo manifold and downpipe. Exhaust gases exit through
a Blitz Realize-TT exhaust system, while boost control is managed
by a TiAL 44mm external wastegate. Fuel and engine management are
controlled by a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU with a custom wiring harness
and flex-fuel tuning capability. The result is an astonishing 615
horsepower at the wheels on E85, delivering brutal acceleration and
instant throttle response.
Cooling and reliability were clearly priorities throughout the
build. A large Blitz front-mount intercooler works alongside a
Mishimoto aluminum radiator and GKTech electric fan setup to keep
temperatures under control even during spirited driving.
The suspension and chassis package is equally impressive. Blitz ZZR
coilovers work in conjunction with D-Max adjustable suspension arms
throughout, Megan Racing tension rods, and a GKTech chassis brace
to create a highly capable handling platform. An aluminum skid
plate offers added protection underneath. Braking performance has
been significantly upgraded with R32 GTS-T brakes, R32 five-lug
hubs, ROFU cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and ROFU Max Street
Friction brake pads. The factory-style handbrake functionality has
been retained through GKTech conversion cables and lines, while a
viscous limited-slip differential helps put power to the
pavement.
Inside, the cabin has been transformed with an S15 dashboard
conversion complete with custom HVAC ducting while retaining
functional air conditioning. Driver-focused upgrades include custom
Bride door cards, matching floor mats, hatch cover, and a Cusco
half cage. Monitoring duties are handled by a BTI 4.3
Multi-Integration digital display linked directly to the Haltech
ECU, providing real-time engine data at a glance. Entertainment
comes courtesy of a Pioneer touchscreen multimedia head unit paired
with Kenwood speakers.
Completing the aggressive appearance are custom Blitz 01 wheels
measuring 18x9 up front and a massive 18x10.75 in the rear,
perfectly fitted to the widened bodywork for an unmistakably
aggressive stance. With only approximately 108,000 equivalent
chassis miles showing and very few original components remaining,
this 180SX represents years of careful planning, quality parts
selection, and professional execution.
Whether you're looking for a high-horsepower street car, a standout
show vehicle, or an expertly built JDM icon capable of turning
heads wherever it goes, this 1995 Nissan 180SX delivers on every
level. Opportunities to own a build of this caliber rarely come
along.
