This Plymouth P8 is one of just 387 convertible sedans produced for a single model year on a unique Murray body. This particular car, chassis 10753429, was purchased by the current owner’s father in the mid 80s and was immediately subjected to a full restoration. It remained in dry storage and was rarely used until 2019, when it received a full service by Prueitt Automotive Restoration in Glen Rock, PA. Work done included the fitment of new tires, rear shock absorbers, 6V battery and cutoff, spark plugs, fuel filter, re-cored radiator and new hoses, wheel cylinders, and a full fluid service. Today, you would never guess the car was restored some 35+ years ago – it presents nearly like new. The paint, brightwork, upholstery, carpeting, dashboard, and convertible top are in excellent condition throughout. The car starts eagerly and settles into a smooth six-cylinder idle, and goes down the road beautifully, running strong, cool, tracking straight, and braking smoothly. Accompanying the car are owner’s manuals, a stack of service history dating to the early 80s, canvas convertible top boot and B-pillar stow bag, and a litany of NOS parts. With less than 400 cars built almost 90 years ago, these are extremely rare finds today, and this one is undoubtedly one of the cleanest examples in existence.
