Starfire convertible was a vehicle that marked Oldsmobile's
significant entry into the personal luxury performance car market.
The 1961 Oldsmobile Starfire reached the pinnacle of the 60's
automotive era, combining style, luxury, and performance with the

price of $4,647 in 1961 ($58,067 in 2026 dollars) it was the most
expensive Oldsmobile offered, even more than the larger
Ninety-Eight models. The Starfire was fitted with a standard
offering 394 cubic inch V-8 Skyrocket V8 engine -Oldsmobile's most
powerful. For 1967, Oldsmobile utilized a 4-barrel Rochester
carburetor and generated 330 hp at 4600 rpm. Oldsmobile production
for 1961 reached 321,838 total units, with the Starfire having
7,600 units, the convertible had only 1,500 produced. With only
1,500 convertibles produced, the Starfire convertible remains as
one of today's most sought after ultra-rare collector's car. With
