EXTERIOR: The fit and finish of this Corvette far exceeds what the
factory was capable of producing in 1961. Every inch of the body is
laser straight, and despite careful inspection, I could not find
evidence of poor bodywork, stress cracks, or imperfections. The
panel alignment is exceptional throughout, with precise gaps and
doors that shut with a solid, modern feel. The body is finished in
a drop dead gorgeous dark blue metallic that perfectly highlights
the Corvette's timeless curves. The metallic is laid out evenly
across every panel and polished to a deep, glass like finish that
reflects like a mirror. In the sunlight, the chrome and trim
absolutely sparkle, providing a striking contrast against the rich
blue paint. The glass and weatherstrips were replaced. This
Corvette offers the best of both worlds with both tops included.
The removable hardtop is painted to the same show quality standard
as the body, while the upgraded German cloth convertible top is
finished in matching dark blue and fits beautifully. The stance is
absolutely spot on, giving the car an aggressive yet sophisticated
appearance. Completing the look is a set of polished American
Racing Twisted Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in custom made
performance redline tires. The overall presentation is nothing
short of spectacular.
INTERIOR: This is an absolutely stunning custom interior- one of
the best you'll find anywhere! Not only for its fit and finish but
also for its comfort, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design. The
moment you sit inside, you're greeted by the rich aroma of premium
leather. The custom seats have been expertly contoured to provide
additional room and comfort for both the driver and passenger, and
they are even heated! Its welcome improvement over the original
design. Every major surface has been wrapped in matching leather,
creating a seamless, upscale appearance throughout the cabin. A
custom center console has been fabricated along with beautifully
designed custom door panels and dash. Even the sill plates have
been wrapped, demonstrating the incredible attention to detail. The
original style steering wheel has been redesigned with a smaller
diameter and wrapped in a padded leather grip for a more
comfortable driving experience. The instrument panel has been color
matched to the interior, creating a uniform appearance throughout.
The gauges have been upgraded. Premium square weave carpet covers
the floor and is protected by matching mats. Air conditioning
controls have been cleanly integrated into the design along with
stylish billet air vents. A modern stereo system provides excellent
sound through door mounted speakers hidden behind attractive mesh
metal grilles. As the finishing touch, a Tremec 6-speed shifter
rises from the console, reminding you that this Corvette offers
modern performance to match its award worthy interior.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is certainly impressive when you first look
at it, but it's even more impressive when you get behind the wheel.
At the heart of this Corvette is a modern LT1 Corvette V8, a
fuel-injected 5.7-liter engine producing approximately 400
horsepower. It delivers the reliability and performance of a modern
sports car while maintaining a show quality appearance. The engine
is tastefully dressed with polished components and equipped with a
serpentine front runner system. Modern comfort and convenience have
been seamlessly integrated with the addition of air conditioning,
power steering, and power brakes. It also features a modern
alternator and an upgraded cooling system consisting of a Be Cool
aluminum radiator and electric fan. Braided stainless hoses and
lines add both durability and visual appeal throughout the
compartment. Complementing the polished components is an abundance
of glossy body color blue paint, tying the entire car together.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is nothing short of a work of art. While the
underside of the trunk lid is finished in beautiful gloss blue
paint, that's only the beginning of what makes this compartment so
special. Open it up and you'll find a fully custom boxed and
upholstered trunk trimmed in the same premium leather as the
interior. The floor is covered in premium square weave carpet. This
isn't the typical custom trunk treatment- it's first class! in
every respect.
UNDERSIDE: It has been completely transformed with a professionally
engineered Paul Newman chassis, bringing modern performance and
handling to this classic Corvette. It incorporates a C5-style
independent suspension system front and rear, complete with
aluminum control arms, front and rear sway bars, RideTech gas
shocks, and rack-and-pinion steering. The result is a Corvette that
drives, handles, and responds far beyond what was possible in 1961.
The braking system has been thoroughly upgraded with drilled and
slotted disc brakes at all four wheels, and the emergency brake is
functional. A neatly installed dual exhaust system with an X-pipe
provides both improved performance and an aggressive sound. Looking
up at the engine, it is detailed and painted body color, and
features a high torque starter for reliable operation. Power is
transferred through a Tremec 6-speed manual trans connected to a
custom aluminum driveshaft, which leads back to an aluminum rear
differential housing equipped with 3.42 posi gears. The entire
undercarriage is exceptionally clean, thoughtfully engineered, and
built to deliver modern sports car performance.
