1964 Chevrolet Corvette, a Bill Dawson-built two-top restomod that
blends classic Corvette style with modern performance, comfort, and
drivability.
This Corvette has the unmistakable look of an early C2, but
underneath, it has been treated to a serious list of upgrades. The
frame features a Corvette Correction black powder-coated package
with a Dana 36 rear end and 3.07 gears, giving this classic a more
modern foundation and confident road manners. From the stance to
the details, this Corvette has the kind of presence that makes it
easy to appreciate before you even turn the key.
Power comes from a GM LS3 crate engine rated at 430 horsepower,
paired with a GM 4L65E automatic transmission. A Vintage Air chrome
front runner system gives the engine bay a clean custom appearance,
while the automatic transmission and custom console shifter make
this Corvette easy to enjoy around town or out on the open road.
This setup gives the car modern muscle with a smooth,
driver-friendly feel.
The braking system has also been upgraded with four-wheel disc
brakes, including C6 front components and C4 rear components.
Drilled and slotted rotors, red calipers, and an electric brake
booster help bring this Corvette to a stop with added confidence.
Chrome Corvette wheels with Michelin tires complete the look and
give the car a clean, performance-minded stance.
Inside, the saddle tan premium leather interior brings a warm and
refined look to the cabin. The custom console features a glove box
and drink holders, adding convenience without taking away from the
car's classic personality. Custom fiberglass door panels, door
pockets, courtesy lighting, Dakota Digital gauges with shift
indicator, and an Ididit chrome tilt steering column with hazard
knob give the interior a polished and updated feel.
Comfort and convenience were clearly part of the build as well.
This Corvette is equipped with Vintage Air Gen 4 air conditioning,
power windows, power windshield wipers, Detroit Speed headlight
motors, new window glass, and a new windshield. The bumpers have
been rechromed, and the stainless trim has been polished or
replaced, helping the exterior shine with the right classic
Corvette attitude.
With its Bill Dawson build, two-top setup, LS3 power, upgraded
chassis, automatic transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, custom
saddle tan leather interior, and modern comfort features, this 1964
