2005 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 4x4 Extended Cab Short Bed Pickup
"Pickup drivers who are looking for more off road capability should
look into the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the Z71 package. What
started as a behind the scenes product code, the Z71 package gained
major popularity over the years for its impressive all terrain
capabilities and is now a staple in the Silverado lineup. The Z71
delivers on its promise with unique performance additions to
improve off road maneuverability and durability."

For consignment, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 4x4 extended cab
short bed pickup truck with a title verified 40,263 actual miles.
This 21 year old truck checks all the boxes with the 5.3 liter
engine, LT3 option, and a short bed with an extended cab. Z71 is
just icing on the cake for this one!
Exterior
Truck people will argue all day what color is best on the pick up,
but we're putting our chips on black, and this one fits the bill
just fine! The way the black interplays with the chrome bits and
polished trim is fantastic and the chrome nerf bars between 20-inch
chrome wheels is like a double underline in design. Those wheels,
by the way, are wrapped in 275/60R20 tires with a mid 2024 date
code so scratch that item off your list for a while. A solid rear
window looks out over a rhino coated bed that's clean and like the
rest of the truck, validates this truck's low mileage and excellent
care. Imperfections are few and include some abrasions on the
plastic tailgate crown, a light scratch on a fender, a slight gash
in the plastic wheel flare, and some delamination to the front
bowtie.
Interior
Welcome to a 2005 time capsule as demonstrated by the clean plastic
door panels in contrasting Pewter and gone are the hard, square
edges of yesteryear, replaced with rounded edges and full
integration of storage bins, speakers, and yes, cup holders. The
LT3 option put leather buckets up front with folding armrests and
integrated seat belts and electronic controls. Other than some
light wrinkling on the driver's unit, all seats, including the rear
bench, are in fantastic condition. A four spoke steering wheel
houses several thumb buttons, shares the column with a shifter, and
fronts an uncomplicated instrument cluster which lights up in what
we like to call "GM Blue" digital numbers. That blue is also found
in the center stack where the AM/FM/CD player and A/C panel reside.
There's a center console too, with lots of storage and cupholders,
all above clean gray carpet. The contoured headliner and overhead
console are also in excellent shape and this is about as close to
showroom fresh as you'll find on a 2005 Silverado with the
exception of the broken glove box release handle.
Drivetrain
It's clean under the hood too where you'll find the 5.3 liter L33
V8, pumping out 310 horsepower as the fuel is delivered
electronically through injectors. It's backed by Chevy's venerable
4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission with route power through the
10 bolt rear axle and 3.42 gears front and rear.
Undercarriage
As we dip to where the rubber meets the road, we find plenty of
typical surface rust for a 20 year old truck, and nothing more. A
single exhaust still runs through original equipment on its way to
the back and power brakes include front disc and rear drum.
Suspension consists of torsion bars up front and leaf springs in
the back.
Drive-Ability
No surprises here as the truck does everything well and has all the
makings of a well preserved, low mileage relic of the early 2000's.
The cabin is ultra comfortable and has room for the family or crew,
including those of the four legged variety. We roll back to the
mall to put this one under the lights. While Classic Auto Mall
represents that these functions were working at the time of our
test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at
the time of your purchase.
Here's a great looking and capable truck that would be at home as a
daily commuter or put to work on a jobsite. Think of it as a family
car with a purpose! A multi-tool with a Cadillac interior!
