Renowned for its fine driving dynamics and wonderful open-air experience, this 58 190SL
is a numbers matching, high quality restored vehicle. It was exactingly restored and
completed by the former long -term President of the 190SL Group in 2015-2017. Awarded
an AACA National Senior award in 2017 and a Best of Show at the International 190SL
Group 2017 meet. The current owner purchased it in 2018.
The car was refinished in Silver Grey (180) with new dark blue leather interior as shown on
its original data sheet. The paint and chrome are still exceptional. The car was
disassembled and all components inspected and carefully restored. The car has
approximately 2,000 miles since the 2017 restoration.
The SOHC 1.9 liter “four” engine with newly restored twin Solex carburetors by S&S
Imports is mated with a fully synchronized 4 speed gearbox, double-wishbone front
suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and four- wheel power assisted drum
brakes. Equipment includes a dark blue convertible top, 13” steel wheels with body-color
hubcaps, a matching top boot, drivers side mirror, dashboard mounted rear view mirror,
Halogen headlights, a VDO clock, coco mats and an incomplete body-colored hardtop with
stand. In the restored trunk is a spare tire with trim ring, jack, tool kit and a fitted car cover.
The car comes with an original radio, numerous hardtop parts, a 5th body colored hubcap,
original headlights, data sheet, restoration receipts, electronic owner’s manual and a clear
Tennessee title.
