This 1985 Porsche 911 Coupe Race Car known as "Vader" was built by
GAS Motorsports and builder Kevin Roush. It is powered by an
air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine equipped with a Bosch Motronic
electronic engine management system and paired with a 5-speed
manual transmission. A Fuel Safe racing fuel cell has been
installed. Braking is handled by heavy-duty Porsche disc brakes
with slotted rotors and a brake-bias system. The car rides on
18-inch wheels fitted with Yokohama Advan tires. Suspension
features factory 930 Turbo trailing arms. The matte black exterior
features a carbon-fiber hood, headlight delete covers, vented front
fenders, front splitter, extended rocker side skirts, rear diffuser
and an adjustable fixed rear wing. The race-prepared interior is
equipped with race seats with harnesses, a Sparco steering wheel
and a multi-point welded roll cage. Additional equipment includes
an AiM race data logging system, cockpit fire-suppression system
and dedicated hardwired communications antennas and cables for the
pit crew. Campaigned by racer Sean Howard, the car captured
multiple consecutive class championships in Spec Carrera, V3/R5,
GT4 and GT5 club racing competition. This vehicle is not street
legal.
