1937 Pontiac Coupe – Exceptional Rust-Free Survivor
This 1937 Pontiac Coupe is an exceptionally solid survivor and a rare opportunity to own a well-preserved prewar automobile.
The body is completely rust-free. The car was repainted years ago, and while the paint still presents well, there is some fading on the roof and trunk lid consistent with age. One of the most remarkable features is the original front grille, which is completely intact—a rarity on 1937 Pontiacs.
The car runs and drives exceptionally well. It starts easily, even after sitting unused for several months. An 8-volt battery is currently used because it fits the original battery compartment and provides improved starting performance without affecting the operation of the gauges or lighting system.
The radiator was professionally rebuilt approximately ten years ago, and the engine runs cool even on warm days. The clutch, transmission, steering, and brakes function properly. Door latches, trunk latch, gauges, dash lights, and other mechanical systems operate as they should.
The interior remains largely original. The original headliner fabric is still in place and intact, though it has become threadbare with age. The seat is currently being professionally reupholstered. The floor has been carpeted, replacing the original rubber mat flooring.
Additional features include:
• Rechromed front and rear bumpers
• New hubcaps
• New wide whitewall tires with less than 1,000 miles
• Original trunk floor covering still in place
• Aftermarket heater mounted under the dash
• Step-up transformer installed to operate a 12-volt windshield wiper motor fitted in the original location
This Pontiac is an exceptionally sound, dependable, and highly original automobile that has been carefully maintained. It is ready to be enjoyed as-is or taken to the next level as a preservation-class show car.
