Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1968 Pontiac Firebird.
Finished in Mayfair Maize (an attractive pale yellow shade) with a
black vinyl roof over black interior, this Firebird presents to a
nice driver standard inside and out and recently underwent a
comprehensive mechanical restoration. Freshly rebuilt V8 with
several chassis upgrades (including four wheel disk brakes and a
"pro touring" front end) make this one drive considerably better
than stock. Well optioned with automatic transmission, power
steering, power brakes, cold A/C and a modern stereo.
Paint presents nicely over a straight and solid body; excellent
original underside with no known rust or evidence of prior repair
in the floors or rockers. Gorgeous 17-inch alloys wearing new tires
are an updated take on classic Pontiac rally wheels. Bumpers, trim,
glass and vinyl roof all present well.
Interior, trimmed in black with a center console and a floor
shifter, is likewise in good condition - nice door panels, perfect
headliner, crack-free dash and steering wheel, good carpets, and
good seat upholstery overall with only one loose seam in the
passenger seat bottom. Lights, horn, wiper and factory gauges are
working; supplemental oil pressure, temperature and voltage gauges
have been added. While this car maintains a mostly stock
appearance, a Vintage Air heating and a/c system provides
integrated heat, defrost and ice cold A/C - and a Custom Autosound
stereo provides bluetooth streaming audio in addition to AM/FM
stereo.
Under present enthusiast ownership this Firebird saw a
comprehensive driveline refresh, including a Pontiac 455 V8 fully
rebuilt and bored 0.030 over to 462 cubic inches. Stainless valves,
flat top pistons, Holley four-barrel carburetor with electric
choke, electronic ignition, aluminum radiator, Sanden A/C
compressor. Big 8.5-inch BOP rear end with 2.73 gears and
positraction. All new suspension and brakes with a pro touring
style front end featuring tubular control arms, coilovers, sway
bar, and quick ratio steering box. New rear springs with one-inch
drop blocks. Four-wheel disk brakes with 13-inch C7 rotors up
front. This F-body runs and drives appreciably better than
most.
If you're in the market for a first-gen Camaro or Firebird, this
one should be on your short list - this is a well-optioned, great
looking car that's very well sorted with no known needs. For more
