We are pleased to present this 356 pre-A Continental Outlaw, which
underwent a meticulous three-year rotisserie restoration by a local
Porsche enthusiast and racer. This original California car was
originally delivered by Max Hoffman in Los Angeles and featured
minimal rust prior to the project. Restoration Details:
The restoration included the replacement of the floors,
longitudinals, battery box, closing panels, jack spurs, front
suspension pan, rockers, and inner fenders. All new sheet metal and
a new fuse block were sourced from Restoration Design Canada.
Exterior and Mechanicals:
The car is finished in Fashion Grey with five layers of clear coat,
featuring consistent panel gaps and new rubber trim. It retains its
original radio, glass, gauges, and lights.
- Performance: The original transmission was rebuilt by Rancho, and
the steering box, kingpins, link pins, wheel bearings, and
suspension (front and rear) have all been rebuilt or replaced. It
features Koni shocks, Old Speed/Paramount front discs, and a new
gas tank. - Engine: The C engine was completely rebuilt by Leonard
(formerly of Fat Performance) with a 1720 Big Bore kit, new Italian
Weber carbs, and less than 50 miles of use. - Electrical: The
6-volt system includes a new battery and a Wasp starter.
Interior:
The interior was completed by K&H Interiors in Southern
California at a cost of $15,000.
Current Status:
The car runs and drives excellently. Here is a link to a video test

- The heater is currently disconnected (cables and boxes are
present). - The radio rectifier requires rebuilding. - The original
gas gauge is currently inoperative (a new VDO unit is included for
a standard swap). The vehicle comes with a clean California title
