Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1967 Oldsmobile
Cutlass. This Cutlass comes to us today dressed in a driver-quality
coat of Black Cherry paint with a nice glossy shine. The dark
purple body serves as a perfect backdrop for a ton of gleaming
brightwork. Up front there's a bright hood spine, quad headlights
with bright surrounds, and a chrome bumper. As you move around to
the side of the car, the raked stance is sure to catch your eye -
it looks fast even while sitting still. More brightwork adorns the
sides, including wheel lip molding, fender badging, body side
molding strips, window and windshield trim, drip rail molding, door
handles, and dual side mirrors. Perfectly complementing this Olds
is a set of chrome 18" 5-spoke American Racing wheels all wrapped
in newer Landspider Citytraxx HP tires (225 front, 255 rear).
Adding to the sporty sideview are tinted windows, the pillarless
hardtop, and elongated rear sail panels. Around back there are an
Oldsmobile logo and "Cutlass" badge on the decklid, a rear
decorative panel with "OLDSMOBILE" lettering, a chrome bumper with
integrated reverse lights, and dual exhaust outlets.
Prepare to be impresssed when you look under the hood of this
Cutlass. The tidy and organized black engine bay is home to a
bright red 350 ci Olds Rocket V-8. The block has the code 39558-2
which tells us it's a Rocket 350 produced from 68-76 and the right
head has a "5" which narrows it down to 68-69 - so while it's not a
numbers-matching, it is certainly era-correct. The V-8 is topped
off with finned red Holley valve covers, an Olds Performer 350
intake, a 4-barrel Holley carburetor, and a chrome Oldsmobile air
cleaner. The Rocket 350 is mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic
transmission that puts power to the pavement via a 12-bolt rear
axle. Crisp starts are no problem thanks to MSD ignition, MSD plug
wires, and a newer chrome alternator. Keeping things cool under the
hood is a newer aluminum radiator with a polished aluminum cover
plate, dual electric fans, and a polished overflow cannister.
Stopping power comes courtesy of power front disc and rear drum
brakes with a newer booster, master cylinder, and proportioning
valve. Other highlights under the hood include a chrome power
steering reservoir, newer aluminum pulleys, braided lines, and
headers that lead back to a pair of flowmaster mufflers.
When you swing open the long driver's door, the overhead courtesy
light pops on to illuminate a nice-looking black interior. The door
panels are a mix of black vinyl, black carpet, and bright trim with
Oldsmobile logos and Polk speakers. The door panels look good, but
the armrests on both are showing some age. The front and rear bench
seats are black vinyl with black patterned cloth inserts. The
driver's seat does have an area where a seam-split was repaired and
a couple small wear spots, but the seats are comfortable and in
overall good condition. Overhead is a tight black vinyl headliner
and underfoot is black hook & loop carpet with black rubber front
floormats. Ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke OEM steering wheel with
working horn on a fixed column with a column shifter. Beyond the
wheel, a crack-free black vinyl dashpad sits above an
original-looking dash with a few aftermarket add-ons. An Autometer
temp gauge has been added to the center of the gen, oil, temp
warning light "gauge", an Autometer tachometer has been added in
the space between the heater controls and radio, and Autometer volt
and oil gauges have been mounted under the dash. The wipers,
gauges, and heater controls all work as they should. The odometer
reads 57,320 miles but the title claims mileage discrepency. The
original AM all-transistor radio no longer works, but there's a
great-sounding Sony Explod AM/FM/CD stereo in the glovebox that
plays through the Polk speakers in the doors and a set of Polk
6X9's on the rear package tray. Also in the glovebox is the
original owners manual and warranty protection book (protecto-plate
is missing). Back in the trunk you'll find a plaid vinyl mat, a
full spare with vinyl cover, and a factory-style jack.
This '67 Cutlass has a look and presence that's going to turn heads
everywhere it goes! The color, the brightwork, the stance, and the
sound all come together to give this Cutlass an almost sinister
appeal! Cool classics like this ride don't last for long here at
Cruisin Classics - especially at this price - so give our friendly
staff a call before someone else snatches this beauty up first!
