This custom street rod is based on a 1930 Ford Model A pickup and
features an all-steel cab and bed on a custom chassis. It is titled
in North Carolina as a 2012 custom-built vehicle.
Matte Black Exterior-
The straight body and bed are finished in matte black with
period-style Ford Service graphics on the doors. Exterior details
include a custom windshield visor, wooden-slat roof insert, chrome
radiator shell, and oak bed floor. It rides on painted wire wheels
measuring 14 inches front and 16 inches in the rear. The interior
features Bomber bucket seats, door panels, a custom dashboard with
Auto Meter gauges, a tilt steering column, and a Lokar shifter.
Flathead V8 with C4 Automatic Transmission-
Power comes from a rebuilt Ford Flathead V8 with Offenhauser
cylinder heads, an Eddie Meyer Holloway aluminum intake manifold,
dual Holley carburetors, and custom tubular headers. The engine is
paired with a Ford C4 automatic transmission and a rebuilt GM
10-bolt rear differential. The chassis includes manual steering,
four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, a dropped front axle with
Bilstein shocks, and rear coilover shocks with extended trailing
arms.
