Rare Excalibur Roadster Series 4
The Excalibur is one of the most distinctive and striking neo-classic automobiles the twentieth century has produced. Founded by designer Brooks Stevens in 1964, Excalibur Automobile Corporation built exclusive, hand-built roadsters inspired by the legendary Mercedes-Benz SSK of the 1930s. Each car was handcrafted in limited editions, making every example a collector's item. The Series IV, produced between 1975 and 1979 — with continuous production into the early eighties — represents the pinnacle of the Excalibur concept: timeless pre-war style combined with modern American technology. Under the long hood of this Roadster, a 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission pulsates, delivering ample power and a sonorous sound befitting its dramatic appearance. Only 159 Roadsters were built out of the entire Series IV production, making this example one of the rarest versions. The rumble seat and semi-electric soft top make this a true summer car that attracts attention at any event.
