INTRODUCTION: Obviously a professional build, the fit and finishes
are very impressive throughout. Built with obvious attention to
detail and craftsmanship, only 2,700 miles since finished. It
features countless upgrades throughout from air conditioning to
leather upholstery. The fit, finish, and overall presentation make
it clear this was a labor of love backed by a serious
investment.
EXTERIOR: Black paint has no mercy, and this Chevrolet wears it
exceptionally well. The body is absolutely laser straight, and the
gaps are precise. The glossy black finish reflects like a mirror
from every angle. The beautiful rounded body lines and desirable
pillarless hardtop roofline showcase some of Chevrolet's best
styling of the era. For a cleaner custom appearance, the hood and
decklid have been shaved of their trim and emblems. The remaining
stainless trim has been professionally straightened and polished,
the chrome was replated. The stance is absolutely spot on! Sitting
slightly lower in front, it has that timeless California custom
look that perfectly complements the flowing body lines. It's
rolling on polished Billet Specialties knock off spinner wheels
wrapped in BFG tires. Additional custom touches include smoked
glass and nostalgic blue dot taillights. This car has presence from
every angle and is impossible to ignore.
INTERIOR: Inside has a clean, nostalgic look that perfectly
complements the exterior. The two-tone painted gray metal dash and
trim maintain the character of a classic '50s Chevrolet, while
tasteful upgrades make it far more comfortable. The fit and finish
throughout are every bit as impressive as the exterior. The seats
are upholstered in beautiful two tone gray leather. The front
bucket seats recline, and the driver's seat is power operated. The
custom leather door panels feature a vintage inspired design that
looks right at home in the car. Premium carpet covers the floor and
is protected by matching floor mats. New original style gauges fill
the dash, while the air conditioning and heater controls operate
through original style knobs for a factory inspired appearance. A
custom steering wheel sits on a tilt column, and seat belts are
provided up front. The ceiling features Bel Air chrome ribs
accented by a new headliner and sun visors. For entertainment, a
stereo system is cleverly hidden inside the center console, while
four speakers are concealed behind perforated openings in the door
panels and rear package tray. The result is a beautifully executed
interior that captures the spirit of the 1950s while delivering the
comfort, convenience, and quality expected from a professionally
built custom.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wow! That's the reaction most people have when
the hood goes up. The engine compartment is beautifully detailed
with sparkling chrome in abundance, surrounded by glossy black
finishes that make everything stand out. At the heart of it is a GM
Ram Jet 350 crate engine producing 351 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of
torque. It combines modern fuel injection technology with a
nostalgic appearance, making it the perfect choice for a classic
Chevrolet. The distinctive Ram Jet intake and fuel injection system
are chromed, along with the valve covers, alternator, and air
conditioning compressor, creating a stunning presentation. It also
features power steering and power brakes, making this Chevy as
enjoyable to drive as it is to admire. An aluminum radiator and
electric fan help keep temperatures under control, while neatly
routed hoses and wiring give the compartment a clean, uncluttered
appearance. Stainless hardware has been used throughout, further
showcasing the quality of the build. Every component looks
thoughtfully placed and meticulously detailed, making this engine
compartment a showpiece in its own right.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are slick black
paint. Inside is boxed and upholstered in leather that matches the
interior. It also uses the same premium carpet. The battery has
been relocated to the trunk and is hidden behind the panel.
UNDERSIDE: The chassis has been thoroughly upgraded to provide
modern road manners. Up front is a Heidts independent front
suspension with adjustable coilover shocks and rack and pinion
steering, dramatically improving handling and ride quality. In
back, it rides on leaf springs with lowering blocks and upgraded
shocks, giving it the perfect stance while maintaining comfort. The
braking system has been upgraded with power front disc brakes. A
custom stainless steel fuel tank feeds the fuel injected V8, and a
custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers delivers a
great performance sound. Looking up at the motor it has an extra
capacity oil pan and a high torque starter. Power is routed through
a proven 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission and a rear end
equipped with 3.55 gears, providing strong acceleration around town
and relaxed highway cruising.
CONCLUSION: This Chevrolet represents the best of both worlds. It
retains the timeless styling and character that made these
early-'50s hardtops famous while offering the performance, comfort,
and reliability of a modern street rod. The quality of the
workmanship is evident everywhere you look.
