This 1967 International Scout 800 is a really clean, really cool,
and pretty original Scout 800. These Scouts are getting very hard
to find. This was originally a Northwest Scout that came to
Michigan years ago and was used only as a summer toy. The body is
super clean and very straight. It was professionally repainted in
what we believe is its original color of Apache Gold Iridium and
the paint still looks great! It is an older paint job so you should
expect some minor patina and marks from over the years. All of the
metal on this Scout is solid and it appears to be all original. We
found no signs of bondo or patches. The underside is original and
clean but it will show some surface rust here and there and it is
dirty. The front axles were painted at some point by the previous
owner.
The interior is super basic and in good condition. The front and
rear seats have bee reupholstered. It still has the original dash
and steering wheel in nice condition. The engine is believed to be
the original 3.2L 196 CI Inline 4 Cylinder. We were told it was
rebuilt years ago but we do not have receipts. It appears to be
totally stock including the original oil bath air cleaner. It has
the Borg Warner T-18 4 Speed Manual Transmission that shifts great
with a strong clutch. It is mated to the Dana 20 transfer case and
the 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is a Dana 44 with 3.73
gears and a factory limited slip. The front axle is a Dana 30 with
3.73 gears and a factory limited slip according to the tags. It is
equipped with a factory PTO winch but we could not get it to work.
This is all sitting on a set of white steel wagon wheels with 31
Inch BFG All terrain tires.
