Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this stunning
1997 GMC Sierra 1500, an exceptionally clean OBS truck that
combines original survivor-quality presentation with modern
supercharged performance. Finished in its original Summit White
paint and retaining an incredibly well-preserved gray cloth
interior, this Sierra has been transformed into a professionally
built street truck while maintaining the timeless look that made
these GMT400 trucks legendary.
Originally equipped with a 5.7L Vortec V8, this GMC now features a
fresh Gen V LT1 6.2L V8 topped with an LT4 supercharger. The engine
build was completed with performance and reliability in mind,
utilizing ARP rod bolts, King race bearings, upgraded oil pump, BTR
225 camshaft kit, DOD delete, Morel lifters, upgraded trunnions,
new timing chain, fresh gaskets, and a Holley oil pan. Feeding the
supercharged LT1 is a polished Wegner front serpentine drive system
with a 5% overdrive setup that creates an engine bay worthy of any
show field.
Backing the LT1 is a modern 8L90E automatic transmission equipped
with a Circle D 3,400 RPM converter, Tru-Cool 40K transmission
cooler, braided AN plumbing, and an aluminum driveshaft. Power is
transferred to a narrowed and rebuilt rear axle featuring Yukon
positraction, Moser axles, new bearings, races, and 3.42 gears.
The chassis has been extensively upgraded to handle the truck's
performance capabilities while delivering an aggressive stance.
Suspension modifications include a Suspension Engineering
crossmember, Stone Fab narrowed front control arms, Viking
coilovers, splined sway bar, Reklez 10-inch under-bed notch with
shock relocation kit, QA1 rear shocks, flip kit, shackles, Reklez
2-inch blocks, and Cal-Trac traction bars.
Stopping power is equally impressive thanks to Little Shop
Manufacturing 16-inch four-wheel disc brakes paired with a Wilwood
master cylinder and adjustable proportioning valve. The truck sits
on staggered polished Intro wheels measuring 22x9 inches in the
front and 22x10.5 inches in the rear wrapped in 265/30ZR22 and
295/30ZR22 performance tires.
The exhaust system consists of 1-7/8-inch long-tube headers feeding
a fully V-banded 3-inch dual exhaust system equipped with Borla
Pro-XS mufflers, creating an aggressive sound without sacrificing
drivability.
Inside, the truck remains remarkably original and exceptionally
clean while incorporating modern upgrades throughout. Dakota
Digital VHX gauges, Dakota Digital fan controller, GSS-3000 gear
selector, BIM module, Kenwood touchscreen head unit, custom-painted
Metra dash bezel, and a premium audio system featuring Kicker and
Infinity speakers, dual Kicker Solo-Baric 10-inch subwoofers,
custom-matched enclosure, and dedicated amplifiers provide modern
comfort and convenience.
The attention to detail throughout the build is outstanding. The
engine bay features Slosh Tubz inner fenders, filler panels,
battery box, radiator cover, smoothed and painted firewall and core
support, polished reservoirs, polished Wegner accessory drive, All
American Billet hood hinges, LG billet accessories, PSI wiring
harness, aluminum radiator with electric fans, and stainless
hardware throughout.
Additional upgrades include Aeromotive fuel regulation, Walbro 450
fuel pump, braided fuel lines with black AN fittings, Borgeson
steering shaft, LED lighting conversion, Dynamat sound deadening
throughout the cab, Street Scene sport mirrors, EZ Clip A/C system,
ceramic window tint, and numerous custom touches that showcase the
quality of the build.
Perhaps most impressive is how well this truck retains its original
character. The original paint presents beautifully, the original
interior remains exceptionally clean, and the truck comes with its
original owner's manuals, window sticker, receipts, and magazine
feature documentation.
The air conditioning blows ice cold, the heat works exactly as it
should, and the truck starts, drives, and performs as a properly
sorted modern restomod should.
This is not a hastily assembled OBS truck. It is a thoughtfully
built, professionally executed Sierra that combines original
survivor quality with modern LT4 supercharged power, overdrive
transmission technology, exceptional road manners, and show-quality
presentation.
Whether you're looking for a high-end show truck, a weekend
cruiser, or one of the cleanest LT-powered OBS builds on the
market, this GMC Sierra delivers on every level.
