This 1950 Ford short bed is definitely not our usual fare, but
there is little doubt that it is interesting. The previous owner
put this truck together for the pure fun of building it and did so
without any regard for correctness or any standards of
perfection....but that's part of what makes it interesting.
Under the custom tilt front end sits a 5.7L V8 engine which is
mated to a TH350 automatic transmission with power front disc
brakes, HEI electronic ignition and headers with dual exhausts. For
the interior, a set of high-backed bucket seats were installed
along with a Billet instrument carrier fitted with "Dolphin" gauges
and a floor mounted shifter. The roof and sides of the cab have
been nicely upholstered and the complete floor has been carpeted.
The battery has been relocated to the bed and is housed in a custom
polished box, the wood bed floor is solid showing just the right
amount of weathering.....definitely not for everyone, but a fun
truck.
