This beautiful one-family owned 1957 Thunderbird is one of only
1,499 cars ordered with the "E" Code engine option which upgraded
the standard power plant to a 312ci/270HP V8 version with 9.7:1
compression and dual Holley 4bbl. carburetors.
Purchased in May of 1957 at Bob Johnson Motor Company in Borger,
Texas this car in been in the hands of one family since. The
odometer shows under 30,000 mi. which is reported to be actual
although here in Texas the mileage will have to be listed as
"exempt" due to the age of the vehicle.
While properly stored for portion of its life in a museum
environment, the servicing and mechanical repairs have been
regularly performed along with a professional exterior refinish in
the correct factory color "Thunderbird Bronze Metallic" with
Colonial White hardtop. The interior seats and carpets have also
been replaced while the dash pad, door panels, steering wheel and
Tonneau Cover remain original.
The car runs and drives exceptionally well, just a remarkable
car.
