Nassau Blue Metallic was one of two colors introduced exclusively
for the 2000 model year to mark the arrival of the new millennium,
which means this Corvette was chosen with intention from the moment
it was ordered. The C5 generation was the most significant redesign
in Corvette history at the time, built on a hydroformed frame,
fitted with a rear-mounted transaxle for near-perfect weight
distribution, and powered by the LS1 V8 that went on to become one
of the most celebrated performance engines in American automotive
history. In 2000 that same platform was proving itself at Le Mans,
with the factory C5-R race car placing in class at the 24 Hours
that June. This one is a convertible, finished in Nassau Blue
Metallic with a tan top, tan leather interior, silver wheels, and a
Corsa exhaust, and it has been very well cared for throughout its
life.
Under the hood is the 5.7 liter LS1 V8 backed by a four speed
automatic, producing 345 horsepower and pulling with the easy,
linear confidence that made the LS family so respected. The Corsa
exhaust gives it a stronger, cleaner sound than the factory system
without changing the character of the car. The 2000 model also
brought dual-zone climate control and improvements to the seat
materials and construction, small refinements that made a car
already well-equipped even more comfortable to spend time in.
Inside, the tan leather interior is clean and well kept against the
black dash, a contrast that suits the Nassau Blue exterior well.
The convertible top is tan and in good shape, giving you the option
to enjoy the car open or closed depending on the day. This is a
well maintained, honest example that shows the care it has
received.
The C5 was the last generation of Corvette to wear pop-up
headlights, a feature that had been part of the car's identity
since the late 1960s. When the C6 replaced them with fixed
headlights in 2005, an era quietly ended. A Nassau Blue Metallic
convertible, a color made exclusively for this model year, in this
condition, is a specific and increasingly desirable piece of C5
history.
