Nassau Blue Metallic was one of two colors introduced exclusively for the 2000 model year to mark the arrival of the new millennium, which means this Corvette was chosen with intention from the moment it was ordered. The C5 generation was the most significant redesign in Corvette history at the time, built on a hydroformed frame, fitted with a rear-mounted transaxle for near-perfect weight distribution, and powered by the LS1 V8 that went on to become one of the most celebrated performance engines in American automotive history. In 2000 that same platform was proving itself at Le Mans, with the factory C5-R race car placing in class at the 24 Hours that June.
