Some cars are rare. Some cars are fast. This 2006 Dodge Viper
SRT-10 Copperhead Coupe is both.
Finished in the jaw-dropping Copperhead Orange Satincoat with
factory Black Dual Stripes, this Viper represents one of the rarest
third-generation Viper configurations ever built. While Dodge
produced 300 Copperhead Edition roadsters in 2005, only 51
Copperhead Orange coupes rolled off the assembly line in 2006.
According to Viper enthusiasts and registry data, only 9 of those
cars were equipped with the factory black stripe package. Making
this Viper even more sinister, the valve covers have been painted
to match the Copperhead Orange exterior, giving the engine bay an
appearance as nasty as the performance hiding underneath the
hood.
Lift the massive clamshell hood and you'll find the legendary 8.3L
V10 producing 510 horsepower and 535 lb-ft of torque. A K&N
cold air intake helps the beast breathe while the Tremec T56
6-speed manual transmission delivers every ounce of American muscle
straight to the pavement. No traction control. No driver aids. No
excuses. Just ten cylinders, six gears, and enough attitude to
leave black marks from one stoplight to the next.
Even by today's standards the performance is brutal. The sprint to
60 mph happens in just 3.7 seconds and the top speed pushes nearly
190 mph. The signature double-bubble roof not only gives the coupe
its unmistakable look but provides additional helmet clearance for
track duty. Combined with a chassis that is significantly stiffer
than the roadster, the coupe has become one of the most
sought-after Vipers ever built.
The Copperhead Orange paint absolutely erupts in the sunlight,
changing shades and intensity from every angle. Factory polished
Viper wheels fill the wheel wells perfectly while massive 14-inch
rotors and Brembo 4-piston calipers with white Viper lettering
provide the stopping power needed when the V10 decides it's time to
unleash hell.
Inside, the black leather and slate microfiber interior is accented
with orange stitching that perfectly complements the exterior. A
Kenwood head unit, Audio Dynamics amplifier, and Audio Dynamics
8-inch subwoofers bring modern sound to an old-school driving
experience, although most owners will agree the best soundtrack
still comes from the side-exit exhaust and ten angry cylinders.
Rare, brutal, and unapologetically American, this Copperhead Coupe
is much more than just another Viper. It's one of only 51
Copperhead Orange coupes built and believed to be one of only 9
produced with factory black stripes. Opportunities to own a Viper
this rare rarely come around, and when they do, they don't stay
available for long.
When the snake strikes, it strikes hard.
