Rare X-code 390 V8 (1 of 477), true CA car w/ A/C & Power Discs. Marti Report included.
You looking for a car that makes you new friends at the gas station? Cool. Read on.
The 1968 Ford Mustang. Not a 289. Not even the famous 390 GT that all the magazines drool over. This is the X-code. The 390-2V. Ford's mysterious middle child of a big block that existed for about five minutes in early 1968 before someone at Ford looked at it, shrugged, and discontinued it. Only 477 of these were built as 2-door hardtops with this exact engine/transmission combo. That's rarer than marketplace sellers who actually answer "is this still available" texts.
How do I know all this? Because I paid a man named Kevin Marti real money to look up this car's birth certificate. This Mustang has more documentation about its origins than most people do. It knows its build date, its factory paint code, and every box its first owner checked in 1968. Somewhere out there is a Glendale, CA dealership that processed this exact car off the lot before Nixon was president.
Speaking of which: genuine California car. Never seen snow, salt, or a Midwest winter. Has definitely seen In-N-Out, possibly more than once a week.
Paint is Meadowlark Yellow, a real factory color, not something a California hippy invented. It's got some chips and scratches because it's 58 years old and has lived an actual life despite living much of it in a garage. Interior is black vinyl factory buckets, recently reupholstered, so you're not inheriting 50 years of back sweat.

~90,000 miles. For a car this old, that's nothing and she runs great. Currently on a set of aftermarket wheels in place of the factory wheel covers, because let's be honest, the mags are way cooler.
This is a real, rare, X-code, California, Marti-documented Mustang. Asking $44,995, which is less than you'll pay for a new SUV that loses half its value the moment you drive it off the lot. This thing has been appreciating since before you could drive.
Serious inquiries only. I will know if you're not serious. I will judge you. Quietly. From inside a very cool car.
