Finished in Black Masons with a Beige Connolly leather interior, a
Fawn headliner, and Cumberland Stone carpet, this Silver Cloud III
was ordered new by Cliff Baker of Elcon Manufacturing Co. of Los
Angeles, California. Ordered through Peter Satori's renowned
Southern California distributorship, it was specified with a
Blaupunkt Kln, Hirschmann electric aerial, electric windows,
Firestone tubeless whitewall tires, plain Sundym glass, lambswool
rugs in the rear in Cumberland Stone, modified Fawn front safety
belts with single-point mounting, single-point mounting for the
rear belts, and a Lucas sideview mirror mounted to the driver's
vent window frame. Once the final checks were completed at Crewe,
the completed car was brought to the famous Lillie Hall for Barker
to take "home delivery" on 24 October 1962 in England. Following a
memorable trip in the United Kingdom with their new Rolls-Royce,
the car was shipped to Los Angeles on 3 November via the Drina.
The history shows that the Silver Cloud later resided in North
Carolina and Illinois prior to being purchased by a collector in
New Jersey in 1997. At the time, the car had been serviced by
Vantage Motorworks and was reported to have covered just 32,000
original miles. Having remained in the same collection for nearly
three decades, it was sparingly used when it entered The Casa Bella
Macchina Collection in 2024, with just under 43,000 miles.
In November 2025, the car visited the experts at Vantage Motor
Works, where it received a comprehensive service including an
engine oil change and spark plug replacement. The work also
included overhauling the front and rear wheel cylinders, a ride
height adjustment, and replacing both the thermostat and fuel
filter, as well as the fitment of four new BF Goodrich whitewall
tires and servicing of the air conditioning system, bringing the
total investment to nearly $17,000. Today, this well-presented
Silver Cloud III is offered with 43,000 miles recorded at
cataloging, and is furnished with a detailed history file and
tools.
