This 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible is a genuine 242-code GTO,
representing one of the most iconic muscle cars of the 1960s.
Backed by an impressive ownership history, this GTO has been owned
by the same enthusiast for the past 45 years, a testament to its
desirability and enjoyment.
Under the hood is a period-correct 400 cubic-inch V8 engine that
was rebuilt approximately 20,000 miles ago. Power is transferred
through the original 3-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission,
also rebuilt approximately 20,000 miles ago, and backed by a
desirable 3.55 Posi-Traction rear axle. A 9-inch stall converter
has been added to enhance performance and drivability. The GTO
runs, drives, and shifts great, delivering the classic muscle car
experience that made these cars legends.
Recent maintenance completed within the last week includes a
rebuilt front suspension, complete brake system rebuild,
replacement of the timing cover gaskets, a new water pump, and a
fresh oil change. These updates have helped make this GTO a
strong-running and enjoyable driver.
The interior has been refreshed with a newer parchment vinyl
interior that presents very nicely and complements the car's
timeless styling. An upgraded Bluetooth stereo system with
amplifier and subwoofer provides modern audio convenience while
preserving the enjoyment of open-top cruising.
The paint was applied approximately 25 years ago and still presents
well, although it does show some age consistent with its vintage.
In August 2025, the frame and undercarriage underwent a fresh
restoration, significantly improving the vehicle's structural
condition and long-term appeal.
This GTO is an honest driver-quality convertible that can be
enjoyed immediately while still offering opportunities for
additional TLC and finishing touches if desired.
