Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this 1984 Chevrolet K5
Blazer. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to buy a brand new '84
Blazer today? Even cooler if it had a bigger engine and better
drivetrain than in '84, right? Well, we have a K5 that is exactly
that level of cool! This Blazer is a full frame-off restoration
with a brand new 6.2L LS3 engine, new electronic fuel injection
system, a new 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, a new
driveshaft, and a gorgeous bright red paint job! That's not even
close to all the highlights, though, so let's take a deeper dive
into this extraordinary build...
When this Blazer was taken completely apart during the restoration,
the frame, floorpans, gas tank protective cover, and engine bay
were all painted a slick, glossy gray while the body itself was
treated to a deep coat of bright red that looks stunning in the
light. The red paint is accented by a black removable fiberglass
hardtop with slider windows on the sides. There's plenty of
brightwork gleaming against the red body of this K5 - a new
eggcrate grille with bright surround, hood ornament, new front and
rear chrome bumpers, new chrome door handles, wheel lip molding,
body side-molding, fender and rear quarter badging, and polished
stainless steel side mirrors. Other exterior highlights include
stacked headlights, a black chin spoiler, wrap-around taillights,
and a set of Bully aluminum side steps. Those steps sure come in
handy when you go to climb up into this 2" lifted Blazer. The wheel
and tire combo is a perfect fit for this tall K5 - polished 8-hole
16" Mickey Thompson wheels with front locking hubs all wrapped in
brand new white-letter BF Goodrich All-Terrain Radial T/A tires.
The undercarriage of this Blazer is a sight to behold - incredibly
clean, with a new gas tank, new brake lines, newer suspension
components, a new rear driveshaft, a freshly painted transfer case,
freshly painted front brake calipers and rear drums, and a new
exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers. This is the kind of vehicle
you'll want to put mirrors under at a car show so that everyone can
see just how good it looks underneath!
Lift the hood to reveal a clean and organized gloss gray engine
compartment. At the center is a brand new crate LS3 6.2L 376ci
aluminum block V-8 with hypereutectic pistons, the same engine that
debuted in the 2008 C6 Corvette. This 430hp engine is coated in
fresh paint, topped off with a new FiTech electronic fuel injection
system, and backed up by a new 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive
transmission. The transmission puts power to the pavement with two
10-bolt axles and a transfer case, offering both two and Four Wheel
Drive. While under the hood, you'll see that this Blazer is
outfitted with power steering, power brakes (front discs and rear
drums), an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and ice-cold
air conditioning. Exhaust flows through headers before heading back
to the aforementioned mufflers. The engine, transmission, and
FiTech system were all purchased independently, then installed by
North Pointe Auto Group (Plain City, OH) in 2025 for over $21K (we
have the receipt). Needless to say, this engine/drivetrain combo is
far superior to a stock '84 Blazer set-up, and it's all brand
new!
Open the driver's door and step up into a well-appointed interior
illuminated by a working courtesy light. The correct gray door
panels are in very good condition, and they offer power windows and
locks as well as map pockets and armrests. The gray carpet looks
new, and it's kept looking nice with black rubber Chevrolet
floormats. The factory bucket seats are gone, and they've been
replaced by brand new Sparco GT racing seats with black synthetic
leather and soft-touch microsuede inserts - a first-class upgrade.
In the rear is what appears to be the original gray cloth bench
seat in good condition. Between the seats is a large center console
armrest-storage box with cupholders. On the floor just ahead is a
shifter for the 4-wheel drive. Ahead of the driver is a black OEM
steering wheel with a working horn on a tilt column. The turn
signal stalk offers intermittent wipers and cruise control
(untested). The grey painted dash is topped with what looks like a
new grey vinyl dashpad. Mounted on the far left top of the dash,
next to the A-pillar, is a viewer/controller for the FiTech system.
Round factory gauges are set in a silver bezel, and they work as
they should. Also in the dash are controls for the HVAC system,
which provides cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan. The factory
stereo has been upgraded to a retro-style AM/FM/Aux unit that is at
the ready with your cruisin' tunes. Just to the right is a switch
that quickly raises and lowers the tailgate glass, allowing entry
into the rear storage area. Ahead of the passenger is an empty
factory glovebox. Overhead, you'll find a tight new headliner. The
rear storage area is spacious and clean, and has a set of Memphis
6X9 speakers mounted on the sidewalls.
If you're looking for a K5 Blazer, you need to take a hard look at
this '84 because you may never see one built to this level again!
Beautiful deep red paint, a fully painted undercarriage, Mickey
Thompson wheels with brand new BFG tires, a new LS3 V-8, new FiTech
fuel injection, a new 4L60E overdrive transmission, 4-wheel drive,
cold A/C, power steering, upgraded power brakes, new Sparco seats,
and the list goes on! This Blazer is sure to put a smile on your
face every time you drive it and draw crowds wherever you go! Give
our friendly staff a call today and don't miss this
opportunity!
