2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - Kong 2650 Supercharged, Penske
Suspension, 6-Speed Manual, $80K+ Invested
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has always represented the pinnacle of
C6 performance, but this 2009 example takes things to an entirely
different level. Professionally built by the Corvette specialists
at Vengeance Racing in Cumming, Georgia, this ZR1 has received
approximately $80,000 in upgrades and improvements, transforming an
already legendary supercar into a world-class street and track
machine.
Powered by Chevrolet's hand-built supercharged 6.2L LS9 V8 and
backed by the highly desirable 6-speed manual transmission, this
ZR1 has been extensively upgraded with some of the best components
available in the industry. The centerpiece of the build is a Kong
Performance TVS 2650 supercharger system featuring a ported 2650
blower and snout, Kong billet supercharger lid, Kong carbon fiber
ram-air intake system, and a massive 120mm throttle body.
Supporting modifications include Brodix BR9 six-bolt cylinder
heads, a custom Vengeance Racing camshaft package, Katech
high-capacity oil pump, Johnson race lifters, ARP head studs, and a
complete fuel system designed to support serious horsepower.
Fuel delivery is handled by Injector Dynamics 1700cc injectors, a
Snow Performance triple-pump fuel system, flex-fuel capability, and
custom tuning by Vengeance Racing. Long-tube American Racing
Headers feed a performance exhaust system that gives this ZR1 an
aggressive tone to match its incredible performance
capabilities.
The drivetrain has been upgraded to handle the increased power with
a Monster triple-disc clutch, MGW short-throw shifter, adjustable
clutch master cylinder, and supporting drivetrain modifications.
Whether cruising on the highway or making full-throttle pulls, this
Corvette delivers a driving experience that few modern performance
cars can match.
The suspension and chassis received the same level of attention as
the engine. Brand-new Penske 8300 double-adjustable coilovers
provide exceptional ride quality and handling precision, while
Pfadt sway bars and upgraded brake components help maximize the
capability of the legendary ZR1 chassis. The owner also invested
approximately $3,000 into additional brake system upgrades
including brake cylinders, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and
related components.
Visually, the car presents exactly as a flagship Corvette should.
Sitting on Signature SV701 Gloss Black wheels measuring 20x10 up
front and 21x12.5 in the rear, the stance is aggressive without
being overdone. Included with the sale is a custom set of 18-inch
beadlock drag wheels built to mimic the factory ZR1 wheel design
and wrapped in Mickey Thompson drag radials. The original factory
ZR1 wheels are also included, giving the next owner multiple
options depending on intended use.
The windshield is protected by premium Hexis Bodyfence windshield
PPF, providing exceptional protection from road debris while
maintaining crystal-clear visibility. The underside is highly
detailed and exceptionally clean, reflecting the level of care this
car has received throughout its life.
Finding a clean C6 ZR1 is becoming increasingly difficult. Finding
one with this level of professional modifications, documentation,
premium components, and attention to detail is nearly impossible.
Built by one of the most respected Corvette performance shops in
the country and loaded with top-tier components, this ZR1 offers
supercar performance with collector-level presentation.
If you're looking for one of the most impressive C6 ZR1s available
today, this is the one.
