2011 GMCSierra 1500 Extended Cab 4x4 Short bed pickup
"GM's full-size trucks and SUVs are among the safest on the market,
and the 2011 Sierra is no different. Not surprisingly, GM's
StabiliTrak stability control system with rollover mitigation
technology forms the backbone of the Sierra's safety suite of
features. Seat mounted side airbags and head curtain side airbags
are standard equipment, and the truck's available safety belt
pretensioners are designed to activate in rear end crash
situations." Motor Trend, 2011
For consignment, a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab 4x4 short bed
pickup truck with 60,032 actual miles. This is a one family truck
with the 5.3 liter V8 under the hood and based on its appearance,
the claim of being garage kept is no conspiracy theory!
Exterior
Handsome lines that blend curved corners and slab panels are
dressed in Olympic White paint which earns a gold medal from us!
This is the era when grilles were growing and a substantial front
bumper is chrome capped by black while integrated stacked
headlights and marker lights curve gently around the corner; no
square body here! The chrome running board runs under both doors
and a matching Leer cap is downright aerodynamic in profile. Tinted
windows and rain guards are not only functional, but boost
esthetics on a truck that could very easily blend in. 18-inch
wheels are just this side of sporty and add a touch of color with
the red GMC logo which appears in billboard sized letters up front.
Rock chips along the sides and a scratch in the Leer are the only
imperfections we note.
Interior
There's no shortage of molded plastic on the door panels and it
creates robust units that provide storage, armrests, and of course,
hardware. Other than some minor evidence of use on the driver's
door, they present near perfect in gray. The front bucket seats are
covered with Carhart branded slip covers to protect them and the
rear bench shows the patterns of bi-colored gray and all are in
great shape. Like work trucks of old, the front is more no frills
with a standard four spoke steering wheel with light patina
fronting four gauges under a textured plastic dash cover. The
integrated AM/FM/CD radio, A/C panel, and 12 volt ports live on the
center stack with near seamless application while the range
selector is on the floor along with protective mats. The bed is
white and uncoated and shows minor use but is overall clean.
Drivetrain
Under the hood we find a clean, fuel injected 5.3 liter V8 rated at
315 horsepower and mated to a 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission.
Power is initially routed to the 10 bolt rear axle with 3.42 gears
and Positraction, and when called for the front differential can be
engaged to get you out of a sticky situation.
Undercarriage
No runs, drip, or errors under here as other than some road dust,
the underside is clean and original looking. Power brakes are split
front disc and rear drum, a single exhaust still runs through
original equipment including the muffler, and suspension consists
of coil springs up front and leaf springs in back. There is a hitch
receiver under the step bumper in back.
Drive-Ability
Really, what's not to love. Practically analog by today's standard,
the uncomplicated interior and straight forward 5.3 take us around
the test loop without issue. The truck is comfortable, clean and
functional. In fact, everything works as it should. While Classic
Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time
of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be
working at the time of your purchase.
Looking for a clean 4x4 but don't want to pay today's prices for a
new truck? Take a look at this gently used 2011 GMC. Use it for
pleasure or business. If it's a business, think of the
possibilities with decals and paint on this white canvas! This fine
rig awaits a new owner.
