Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle
SS tribute for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. 1971 was a
transitional year for muscle cars. Insurance rates, emissions
rules, and fuel concerns were beginning to reduce horsepower across
the industry. The 71 Chevelle carried over much of the styling from
the groundbreaking 1970 model. Still, the 1971 Chevelle remained a
legitimate performer with strong big block options and aggressive
styling.
Interior:
Inside, the Chevelle now features front SS racing seats and the
rear bench seat upholstered in black vinyl and Chevelle-branded
mats line the floors. Upgrades include a Hurst shifter, AC, dome
light, and a Kenwood head unit with Pioneer speakers (2021).
Phantom AutoMeter instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a
tachometer, and supplementary gauges for fuel, center clock, oil
pressure, and water temp. A three-spoke SS steering wheel sits on a
tilt column. The five-digit odometer shows 20,621 miles, TMU. New
retractable seatbelts were installed in 2021.
Exterior:
The Chevelle is finished in Cranberry Red with black rally stripes,
a domed hood, SS-style grille, and chrome bumpers. The car is
equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by
power-assisted front and rear discs (replaced in 2019). In 2019,
repairs are as follows; new steering box, replaced inner/outer tie
rods and sleeves, new upper and lower ball joints, new sway arm
links and bushings, replaced front shocks, replaced idler arm, fuel
tank, rear coil spring pads, and replaced rear shocks. In 2021, a
new brake booster was added.
Engine:
The Chevelle features a 5.7-liter 350 small block V8. In 2021, an
Edelbrock carburetor was added, new fan belt, new spark
plugs/wires, and new Blueprint HEI distributor. The 700R4
four-speed automatic transmission sends power to the 10-bolt rear
end.
Wheels and Tires:
The 18" upfront and 20" REV wheels are mounted with 235/45R18 and
275/40ZR20 Nankang tires with DOT of 2018.
