Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is happy to digitally present
this 1977 Datsun 280Z represents the final evolution of the iconic
S30 chassis before the transition to the next-generation Z cars.
Finished in classic silver over a black interior and powered by the
legendary 2.8-liter inline-six engine paired with a desirable
5-speed manual transmission, this 280Z delivers the raw analog
driving experience that made the early Z cars famous among sports
car enthusiasts worldwide.
Under the hood is Nissan's durable L28 single overhead cam
inline-six engine, equipped with Bosch L-Jetronic electronic fuel
injection for improved drivability, reliability, and cold-start
performance over earlier carbureted models. The fuel-injected 2.8L
powerplant provides smooth power delivery and strong torque
throughout the rev range while retaining the unmistakable sound and
character of the classic Z-car platform.
The exterior is finished in silver, complementing the timeless
long-hood, short-deck styling of the S30 chassis. Upgraded Konig
Rewind aluminum wheels provide a period-correct appearance inspired
by vintage motorsport designs, while Yokohama Avid touring tires
offer a comfortable and confident driving experience both around
town and on the highway.
Inside, the cabin features black upholstery and maintains the
driver-focused simplicity that defined the early Z cars. Modern
audio upgrades include a Pioneer CD/radio head unit along with two
compact Kicker rear speakers, providing improved sound quality
while preserving the car's vintage character.
Combining classic Japanese sports car styling, reliable
fuel-injected performance, and tasteful upgrades, this 1977 Datsun
280Z is an excellent example of one of Nissan's most beloved
enthusiast vehicles.
