Vehicle Description

1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe

This is originally a California car, and went through the mandated state headlight alignment back in 1941. The story that was attached to the car when the current owner bought just a year or so ago, is that it was in a museum/collection in California for nearly 50 years before being fully restored in 2016.

The body came off and received a full nut and bolt restoration.

The body is original, stripped down, no rust was found so repainted in factory original paint - Midnight Blue. The correct red leather interior was replaced - original frames were cleaned up and new leather and padding installed. All the glass was replaced, the 364 CI flat head had been sitting for so long it was decided to rebuild it, along with the 3 speed on the column manual transmission. A brand new LeBaron-Bonney top was installed and when up, gives the car a very sleek, forward leaning look, not many convertibles can claim they look as good with the top up as down. The vacuum operated top works correctly, it does need just a little help when going back up, but that is ordinary for a vacuum top. The wipers and power antenna are also vacuum powered and wok as they should. All the gauges work, unfortunately, the clock does not. The radio powers up and one gets static across many of the AM bands however, I could not get it to tune in any stations. The trunk was not missed and looks as stunning as the interior, all new carpeting and spare tire shelf. There is also a matching bag for keeping the top boot in when the top is up.

All mechanical underneath have been replaced or rebuilt. The current owner put new BFG Silvertown tires on her and installed new brake/wheel cylinders, master cylinder, rubber lines, bearings, alignment and installed a 6V electric fuel pump.

This car is top shelf and would win in many car shows across the country. There are just a couple very minor flaws that might keep it from winning at Amelia or Pebble Beach. There is a scratch near the left trunk hinge, the zipper for the rear window is sticky and is missing a couple teeth, there is a very minor scuff on the right fender top that can only be seen at just the right angle, a chip on the lower right wheel skirt, a small set of chips where the hood meets the left fender - these have been touched up but are visible if you're seeking them out, lastly there is a 2" section of chrome on the hood that has been over polished. (all of these have been called out in the photos) Otherwise chrome is near perfect throughout. You can eat off the undercarriage. Under the hood is the same.

So, her looks are as stunning as a 40's era movie star.

Turn the key and the engine fires right up. The big V8 has a nice rumble to remind you that this isn't just a pretty, Art Deco face.

Move the 3 speed manual column lever down to first, let out the clutch (which grabs perfectly) and accelerate down the road. This car easily reached 60 MPH when I was in her. Brakes are new and stop this big girl with ease, steering, while not power, is light when moving and the large wheel makes it less difficult to turn when stopped or moving slowly.

You will not find another 41 Cadillac Convertible like this. The Midnight Blue over the blood red leather and all the shining chrome make this Caddy the star of most shows. The odometer shows 98,000 miles, however, since the restoration, it is figured that less than 10,000 have be put on the car. True mileage is unknown.

The asking price on this rolling piece of art is $92000.

Thank you for the interest!
