History:
This ’78 Pace car has always resided in the Washington State. Originally purchased in Vancouver, WA in 1978. This Corvette remained with the original family, father to son until I acquired her in 2022.
The car has undergone professional mechanical and cosmetic restoration which includes all new suspension system, recent transmission rebuild, new brakes, carburetor rebuild, paint correction on repaint from about 10 years ago, and interior cleanup.
Included in the sale is a complete set on new graphics from Phoenix Graphics and a new, in the box, correct Pace Car Steering Wheel.
The L82 received an Aftermarket cam shaft while in the possession of the former owner. I had the car professionally Dyno Tuned at Tom’s Performance Machine and Repair including rebuilding the number matching carburetor. Dyno sheet - include in sale - shows 276hp at the crank with 330 crank torque.
“Issues:”
• Car runs smooth and steady with only issue due to the aftermarket cam, car will stall at long traffic lights. I have had the car tuned/carb adjusted several times to eradicate this issue, but it persists. To mitigate, I put the car in neutral at long red lights.
• Paint on hood has bubbled several years ago, hence no hood stripe. Documented in photos.
This Corvette has great power and shifts tight and smooth. You will not be disappointed.
She also comes with a booklet with 1978 Corvette brochure, 2 Limited Edition Corvette (silver) owner’s manuals - one reproduction, one original, original perfect condition Sun Visor card for adjusting outside mirrors, original 1978 Passenger Car Maintenance Schedule 1 pamphlet, blue Hazard Warning Light operation card (hung around the hazard switch), and original Aluminum Wheel Description & Maintenance Instruction sheet for lug nuts. I assume the build sheet is still attached to the tank, I never checked.
